IMO, playing before the wilderness was released is relatively old school.

Now that I think about it, I am not that old school. Started about 3 months before RS2.

I remember when the wilderness was first introduced :)

 

 

 

I was lead into it by Jagex saying "the deeper in you go, the greater the risks... the greater the rewards". I made it all the way up to a giant and then I had to go back because the giant was too tough, I got a steel dagger though!

 

 

 

I even remember making my account into a PKer back when you could PK anywhere... Someone started attacking me and I went "casting fire blast in, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1" and it actually scared him away :lol: (yes, I was a noob back then)

I liked the 'PK anywhere' system too. Problem was that you couldn't see your own combat, and you had to ask people what level you were.

You now you're old-school if you still use the word "community" to refer to Runescape #-o

i dont remember too much of that but im sure i did, haha. i was a very depressed [wagon] over 5 years ago. im a much happier person, and no i have NOT found god, haha.

at one time i got to take prozak, that [cabbage] makes you feel all dead and stuff. and anti social. once i got off of that stuff i became normal.

You're old school when you still enjoy playing LucasArt's (then LucasFilm Entertainment) "The Secret of Monkey Island" and laugh during the Insult-Swordfighting part of the game. Yes, wrong game but that's how "old school" I am!

When Varrock clothes shop had a red partyhat for sale but zero in stock.

You know you're old school when you try to point out how long you've played at every oppertunity and whine about how "great rsc was" and how pking is ruined and damned for eternity because of the latest update.

I think I realised when someone called me a lair when I used to play RS with there were no banks. They were moaning about bank space and I mentioned that when I started playing, there were no banks and that he should be thankful lol. That earned me some abuse lol.

Considering the current amount of players that have never played rsc nor have access to it, IÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâôd say you can be considered old school when you do have access to rsc right now (Like I have)

1. When you on rare occasion try walking to the bank and are confused for a split second that it doesn't have red carpet on the mini map

 

2. When run energy used to be called fatigue =P

Um. Run energy does not equal fatigue. Fatigue increased every time you did tasks such as mining, and you had to sleep in a bed or sleeping bag after reaching 100% (and typing in a random word - to stop bots).

Does anyone ever recall The Matrix Effect/The Yachowski Syndrome? It's when your character froze in place for a few seconds from jet lag then quickly darting off looking at everyone else moving at the speed of sound. :P
