How long do you think it will take to mine 62k coal for 51 - 85 mining?

 

 

 

Would I be able to sell all this coal for 200 ea? Making 12 mil? \

 

 

 

Would It be possible to mine 78207 rune ore from 85 - 99 mining?

 

 

 

Would this be sellable for 13k ea? Making 1 016 691 000 gp? :thumbsup:

 

 

 

Or should I stick with coal for 85 - 99 mining? Meaning I would need to mine 195517 coal, sellable for 39.1 mil? \

Mining coal is very, very slow, but you could do it. Just keep looking

 

forward to the big money and you'll make it :D .

 

The rune ore is almost impossible, it would take you years, stick with coal.

I hope you made a typo, it won't take 6K coal, it'll take 62K coal.

 

I think 6K is definitely possible, I've personally done 4K a few times, but it's very boring, slow and not a good money maker. 62K will indeed take a few months, but I've seen several 80+ miners who still mine their own coal, so it is possible. But I highly advice not to.

How about this: powermine iron using the 3 al kharid rocks.

 

Whenever the nearby mith rocks are up, go and grab that ore and

 

then return to powermining iron. When you have a full inventory of mith,

 

then go bank it all.

 

When you reach level 70 mining, then switch to grabbing the nearby Addy ore.

 

Mith ore sells for, maybe, 500 gp and Addy ore for about 1000 gp.

 

 

 

Then I make money and get uber cool xp!

 

OR I could just mine iron and BANK it, getting uber xp, AND some money (100gp ea)

 

Generally speaking, most players mine for fast exp or money but not both.

 

I suggest power mining iron (don't bank it) and then, when you reach 70,

 

mining Addy and Mith to make money.

 

There are usually far fewer people after those rocks then iron.

 

You can world hop to find available rocks.

Yeah, that's another way to make money. At least you don't have the same competition for the rock.

 

 

 

I got to 85 using the 3 Al kharid rocks. Unfortunately, the 2 F2P runite rocks are empty most times.

You only need 3 inventory spots for power mining the 3 Al kharid rocks.

 

So the rest can hold Mith or Addy ore.

 

You can actually see the 2 Addy rocks while mining the 3 iron rocks.

 

For the mith rocks you would have to time them to get the ore.

That's right. Most of the time, when I visit the F2P runite ore rocks,

 

they have already been mined and are empty.

 

There are over 20500 players that, (with a Dwarven stout), can mine runite ore.

 

The respawn time ranges from 12 to 23 minutes (depending on server population).

 

So, with that much competition and that long a respawn time,

 

mining runite ore can be very frustrating.

 

 

 

Finally, if you do manage to get the ore, you've got to watch out

 

for the Pkers that would like to help you carry all of that heavy ore.

What I think you should do is find a populated world and mine iron in the varrock west mine, stand right between the two iron rocks. Then you are close enough to a bank to bank the ores. Then you get pretty fast xp and still get the money.

if you play on mining rune ore then power mining is the way to go. If you do mine coal, mine the amount of iron it would take so you could smith into steel bars and then sell(tons of smithing exp and even more cash) Rune ore is definitely worth it. Once you get used to mining and world hopping(using a lvl 3 scout of course to avoid pkers!) you can make the best cash in f2p that isnt merchanting. It took me less than a month power mining from 69 to 85 and it would not take you much longer from 51, just be prepared for boring yourself to death. 85 mining rules!

A very long time. I don't remember how much I used to get when I mined coal, but will take at least a few months. Starting at 51 is a terrible idea; at 70, I can't always get the ore if I'm competing with someone else. Go with iron until 70, then go to coal if you must, but iron is still better.

Coal is usually sold at 180 each, but if you can find someone at 200 ea, thats a good deal.

Once again, mining at 85 will be hard, so maybe start mining rune ores later for more effeincy. It is possible, but I'm guessing it'd take you at least half a year, switching worlds, and avoiding pkers (if your mining in the wild)

It would be sellable for 13k each, but getting all those rune ores is probably not going to happen.

Stick with coal, its a lot better than rune. But iron is even better. Powermining iron will be the fastest way to get to 99, but if you're going for the cash, go with iron. Mith and addy aren't very effective.

Mining gold at Brimhaven worked well for me. I know im not a very experienced miner (lvl 63) but i could make about 120-140k an hour mining gold. There is nearly never any competition. There are 10 gold rocks so I rarely spent time waiting for ore respawns. I think gold is faster exp that coal. If you use the Fisher Kings Realm's fairy ring to Zanaris, and a magic whistle, it will greatly decrease the time you spent running. Good luck

He is wrong though. Completely focused you could probably get 60k exp/hour MAX.

More like 50k max per hour, fully focused.

 

 

 

One thing is, you should never, ever, EVER mine coal until you are 60 mining at the very least, and even then it's not going to be particularly fast. I would highly recommend you mine and bank iron until level 75, and then switch to coal if you are so inclined. Either way, I don't recommend powermining. Yes, it's almost double the exp you'll get banking iron or coal, but getting rune ore reliably takes a lot of patience and in many cases pretty high levels for access to certain spots/teleports. Better you have something to show for your 85 mining, because there is a very good chance that mining runite isn't going to be quite the moneymaker you think. Even when you have a reliable method, it gets old very fast.
