Featured Replies

As I type this down, outside the computer room window a hell of alot of rain has been falling

I am if you do not know already in the South of England

Were expected to have a huge amount of rainfall today

Is anyone in school atm and is experiecing the same thing.

We had the same thing (Up North) a few weeks ago. Our play ground flooded about 2 feet deep and the roads turned to rivers. We might be getting the same rains as you later today.

Yeah, it's about time some of you southerners got the same rain that we've been having :P

BBC forecast is okay for today in Yorkshire, it says it might rain later but not as bad you're getting it. To be honest, living on top of a hill I don't mind really heavy rain, it's more exciting than just this perpetual greyness that we're getting. It's been a rubbish summer so far weatherwise :(

"Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"

didnt scientists say we were going to have the hottest summer on record at the beginning of the year?

I believe so. Here in Minnesota, the summer is usually hot as hell, but this year it's actually been pretty mild. Nice little breeze that I would consider "cool" and like 80 degrees. It's still pretty humid, but that's to be expected. Usually it's like 95-100 and I remember once when I was a kid it got up to 124 degrees outside. Usually it's so hot that I can't work outside during the summer because I over-heat pretty easily, even if I drink lots of water and stuff.

...That reminds me, I was supposed to be siding a house today. Whoops.

I live in Sheffield which got very badly affected a few weeks ago but fortunately I live on a hill so I was ok. This weather is truly horrible, as I look out side the window it is windy and overcast, just like every other day for the last 2 months :(

Did somebody say rain? Over here please...I'm parched...

Something like 85 here with 69% humidity. I'm actually sweating while I type this so you know...that I envy you.

I live in a top floor apartment so I'm ok. My parents live in a house in Worcestershire though so I've had to take the day off and come home and help. All the neighbour's houses have flooded except for our next door neighbour and ourselves, so far. Thank god we are both on a slight hill. The road is just a river and the sewers are over-flowing.

I've come online to look at the weather forecast and it's going to rain until at least 4am. God knows what it'll be like then. Well, back to it..

Great British summer 8-) I just don't understand the 10 minute bursts of beaming sun amidst the rain though. I think mothernature needs to make her mind up. :wall: But at least i can have ducks swimming through my house.

This time yesterday, we were all basking in the heat. Within 24 hours, half the country seems to be flooded. British weather, as always

it rained in London at about 11am to 12pm...

I was asleep....

Ok well I just checked the humidity and it is actually 83%, humidity makes the air feels alot more thicker and more stuffy making you sweat alot more. It really depends on the humidity at where you live because if it is high humidity it makes you alot more tired and drowzy.

I'm watching the news at the moment and it looks pretty bad - about the same as in the north the other week. I'm pretty lucky where I live (suffolk) - it hardly ever even rains, and then its not for long.

I have to get practically naked when I'm cooking bacon.

I may be immature, but that made me laugh!
