July 30, 200718 yr Just as predictably, it has triggered a new conspiracy theory. According to Mr Pesci, a woman on Christ's left appears to be cradling a baby ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ and although he made no suggestion this could be Jesus's child, his theory has sent the Net into a frenzy. Shot at 2007-07-30 Shot at 2007-07-30 Look closely...can you see the ghostly image of a woman cradling a baby...or anything else for that matter? The fresco is already the subject of controversy after author Dan Brown based The Da Vinci Code around the painting, arguing in the novel that Jesus married Mary Magdelene and fathered a child. Websites leonardodavinci.tv, codicedavinci.tv, cenacolo. biz and leonardo2007.com failed after receiving a claimed 15million hits. Technicians say they are trying to provide more powerful servers for the sites. Mr Pesci also suggested that the superimposed version shows a goblet before Christ, and illustrates when he blessed bread and wine at a supper with his disciples for the first eucharist. He said: 'I came across it by accident. From some of the details you can infer that we are not talking about chance but about a precise calculation.' But Alessandro Vezzosi, an expert on da Vinci, said The Last Supper was so degraded by time that it was difficult to draw any new conclusions. Thoughts on this, coincidence or did he deliberatly do this. Edit: noticed the quote dosn't explain how he found it, basically he got he original flipped it, then layed them on top making them slightly transparent.
July 30, 200718 yr That picture looks nothing like The Last Supper. The woman who appears to be holding a baby isn't even in the real picture. Also, the picture in your post does not show a large white object in front of the table that is in the real picture.
July 30, 200718 yr Stop thinking so hard, your brain might leak. [if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.] Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

Anyways I don't really see a baby in the overlaid picture. It is possible that he thought of it, but I doubt it.
July 30, 200718 yr There are many versions of Da Vinci's work since it has been through various restorations through the past. Since it started to deteriorate as little as 10 years after DaVinci even painted it, he liked to experiment a lot. What you're seeing is the image flipped over and made more transparent i really don't see how this is encouraging much conspiracy talk. Apparently the two guys on the right become knights when this is flipped and the woman to the left is creadling a baby possibly Chrisits but its waaaay to much of a stretch. I find DaVinci's lost murial a lot more interesting, his painting of the "Battle of Anghiari" was lost because again DaVinci experimented and the paints leaked and ran. The only version we have of it is a replica of it painted by another man. It's interesting because Michelangelo was also paining a murial of the same victory opposite of him, Michelangelo's was destroyed 5 or so years after it went up. A hundred years later (i think) someone was called in to do a new murial and he was always beleived to have painited over DaVinci's but recently people have been investigating it and they beleive that a wall is now in place of where the murial was and has a 3cm gap between the wall and where the murial would be making it look like the murial is intact and still behind the wall. Hopefully they recover it soon, since it was supposed to be DaVinci's masterpeice, even greater than the Mona Lisa. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
July 30, 200718 yr Did you even read the OP? Yes, and the picture that person used to flip and transparify looks very different than the one I've usually seen.
July 30, 200718 yr Yes, and the two men on the left appear to be kissing. Therefore the apostles were homosexual.

July 30, 200718 yr I've heard stories of Templar Knights holding babies in that painting, which just goes to show the consistency and veracity of all this overblown speculation. Varrock Library: Shattered Sky | Silent Thunder | The Emperor's FinestAstri @ MythWeavers
July 30, 200718 yr Yes, and the two men on the left appear to be kissing. Therefore the apostles were homosexual. Well it is a Da Vinci work he was known to have had relationships with his pupils and to have been homosexual, as well as Michelangelo (more overtly) which i always find ironic. The Pope, below the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel which shows his love of the male body as greater than the female body and even angered some of the people who worked there. July 30, 200718 yr You are all missing the bigger picture. This picture proves unequivocally that Jesus was in fact...a MOTH.
July 30, 200718 yr That's not the real picture. The real one has a doorway cut into the bottom of it. I can see it very clearly and all, but Da Vinci never painted THAT particular painting, so it's a matter of "Whoever did paint it...Did they do this on purpose (they'd have to be a friggin' genius to get that to work without using a computer to aid them) or is it a coincidence?!!!111/?!" And really, it doesn't matter. People always speculate as to weither or not Jesus got down with Mary and had a baby, but why does it matter? People think that if someone had Jesus' DNA running through their veins that it'd make them special or somethin'? Please. Jesus doesn't have any lil' decendants, because if he did, they'd probably be UBER-AWESOME-OMG, and no one is...Or it'd be that maybe he DOES have descendants, and he wasn't as special as he made himself out to be, hence his descendants aren't uber, which I'm sure no one here is going to hear anything of. :P The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me!

July 31, 200718 yr thats ridiculous, of course your going to find stuff like that if you look for it hard enough. now if your put on 3d glasses and saw "Jesus will return on this date, have a nice day" that would be amazing and something worth looking into to. but because some guy flipped the image, and overlayed it on the orignal and saw something that slightly resembles a human figure (more like an alien, or the result of several generations of inbreeding) doesnt mean it was meant to be there. My post said that even if the picture in the OP hadn't been flipped and overlaid, it still wouldn't look anything like the version I posted. :-s

Also, the picture in your post does not show a large white object in front of the table that is in the real picture. The "large white object" is a doorway someone chose to put in a few hundred years later. The one posted in a tapestry version of the painting which is almost exactly the same in terms of where everyone and everything is positioned the only difference is that it's tapestry and the fact there is no doorway in the middle since it was done before the doorway was put in. There is another version which is another replica but done in oi.l paint also done before the doorway was added. But then there also differences in the real paining beacuse of the restoration it has undergone Anyway this is the real version; With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. July 31, 200718 yr How does this stuff even make the news? We've already had 3 better theories alone on this thread. Tip.it should have its own box office! This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
