darkpoet837
This is a question about your area's litter laws. Our area, Upper Mitchigan, has had a recent law put up that forbids lit cigarettes from being tossed out of car windows. With our local drought, a fire would be a huge problem. If there is any litter law that someone should follow, at least the one that protects their own home. But no. Sitting in my car, I see people all the time still tossing dead butts out the window. :uhh: My first question is, do you think they should have stricter enforcement with this law? For my second question, how is your area with following the litter laws. For my third and final question, have you ever thrown litter from your car on purpose, and why. I just want to know if littering is a big issue in every town, not just this place. hellbellz
My first question is, do you think they should have stricter enforcement with this law? How can you really enforce it? It's pretty hard For my second question, how is your aria with following the litter laws. I'm not too sure on that one. We're have the city with most tourists in the USA. I'm sure it can't be too bad. For my third and final question, have you ever thrown litter from your car on purpose, and why. No. I just can't stand littering. It's like pouring gas in a cup of water. Wait. it is.
WolfhunterXZ
I live in the Suburbs of Seattle, WA. And we two have the laws about throwing litter out of a car. People do it anyway. Hell, I do it, even though I shouldn't, that's why I've stopped smoking in my car. But if I do smoke in my car, I'm throwing the butt out the window in the middle of the road or on a stretch of road that has no major (dry) vegetation, so not to cause a fire. But I've stopped smoking in my car, but I don't throw other garbage out of my window though, and litter is a problem everywhere these days in populated areas. Wolfy is Officially Retired.I miss you all (Well, mostly my friends n stuff)If you want to talk to me, send me a message, I check the boards daily. :D
Led-Zeppelin
I live in NZ, and rarely smoke, but if I do, and I am in the car, I chuck it out. Forrest fires are not a danger here at all, if it were in the middle of the summer I'd dab it out with my finger then chuck it. I try not to chuck litter out of my car, the stuff I do chuck out is usually apple cores so it's no problem at all.
Biabf
My area is some much littered but it has a lot of chewing gum on the floors in town and stuff. The only real perfectly tidy place I've seen is Singapore. You get fined 1000 singaporean dollars for littering. They have tons of street cleaners and its all a lot tidier than anywhere I've been. Lenin64
You realise an "Aria" is a type of song, played in an airlike way (dunno if that makes much sense). Area is what you mean Anyways, it can be somewhat easy to enforce. Police stationed by the sides of the road who usually just watch for speeders can now watch for cigarettes flying out of windows. My area is mostly clean, this might not be an abundance of litter laws more than people just don;t litter. It's a suburban area, you know how those are.... No, I have never thrown litter out of a car window 9or any car opening, for that matter). Command the Murderous Chalices! TotalTalker
I dont really know, because the punishment for dropping litter around where I live is quite strict as it is. Well, around my area, if you drop litter I think you can get a ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã50 fine. No, I cant remember me ever throwing litter out from our car, but I have dropped litter a few times before (only little things like little pieces of rubbish that you can bite off wrappers, etc), and I did this because there wasnt really much point in putting it in my pocket (like I do with practically all of my rubbish) if its only a tiny bit. Necromagus
It's incredibly easy to start a forest fire. Just a few months ago a small forest fire near my house was caused by sparks flying off the wheels of a freight train hitting the breaks. The fine for normal litter is still the same, but the fine for cigarette litter is alot higher because of the dry conditions. It's incredibly easy to start a forest fire. Just a few months ago a small forest fire near my house was caused by sparks flying off the wheels of a freight train hitting the breaks. We have had 2 fires in the past months because of how dry it is here, and I think that is why the law is in place. I looked it up, and not only are cigarettes banned, any burning outside of a fire pit is as well. :-k And thanks lennin, I am so bad at spelling its not funny... TotalTalker
There was an incident years back in a football stadium where someone dropped a cigarette down into the stand, and since as there was nothing down there, and there were also spaces under the seats, the rubbish started to build up down there over the years. The stands were also made out of wood aswell, so of course a fire started. I just thought I'd mention this because of litter being a fire hazard in some circumstances.
