Fusion skill:

Brief Summary:

This paragraph is meant for people who do not want to read the whole idea. Skip this if you̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re going to read the entire post. However, keep in mind, when posting a reply, that your concerns might have already been answered in the longer version. Anyway, fusion is a skill that lets you fuse with a monster to change your character̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s attributes temporarily. You do not literally need to be next to the monster; instead, you use a special ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åfusion idol̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

Nicely thought of. However, in most places in the wildy, it wwould be tricky to find a cat visually. Make it invisible on the radar, and you see 7 guys jump of a spot and turn into level 113 who hit more than 60 on you altogether. That just wouldn't work.

Matt: You want that eh? You want everything good for you. You want everything that's--falls off garbage can

Camera guy: Whoa, haha, are you okay dude?

Matt: You want anything funny that happens, don't you?

Camera guy: still laughing

Matt: You want the funny shit that happens here and there, you think it comes out of your [bleep]ing [wagon] pushes garbage can down, don't you? You think it's funny? It comes out of here! running towards Camera guy

Camera guy: runs away still laughing

Matt: You think the funny comes out of your mother[bleep]ing creativity? Comes out of Satan, mother[bleep]er! nn--ngh! pushes Camera guy down

Camera guy: Hoooholy [bleep]!

Matt: FUNNY ISN'T REAL! FUNNY ISN'T REAL!

Well, you aren't literally "a cat" when you fuse; you just look like a half-cat half-human. Thus, seeing them isn't as hard as seeing a cat, though the radar thing does definitely make it harder.

Of course, that being said, these fusions are only meant as examples. Some may indeed be flawed, and there are probably other good ideas for fusions.

The word "fusion" doesn't seem to fit, but I can't think of anything else right now, so I guess it'll have to work.

Great idea, I support! It seems that some of the more powerful fusion monsters aren't strong enough to justify working to get the idol though. Who wants to transform into a black dragon, just to be able to hit a 4 instead of their normal slash?

perfect grammar is one thing, typing like a drugged monkey and enjoying it is another

Unique idea, well thought out, and posted very organized and easy to read. I support. However, I think that you should make them all visible to other players, because they would just be too good in the wild if you could hide them completely and then totally surprise someone in the middle of a battle. Also, I have one question. In your post it sounds as if this would be an entirely new skill, instead of just being an add on to say mage. If it is supposed to be an entirely new skill how will it effect combat level?

It is a stand-alone skill. I as considering if it would affect combat or not; I decided it would probably be better NOT to because, remember, that even the fusions that affect combat do have negative affects to them (such as removing an armor piece). Even if the net effect is good, it's not ONLY a bonus, it's both a bonus and a penalty, so that's why I thought it shouldn't affect combat level.

Great idea. They should introduce an idol spot for equipment, but while it is equipped the idol will be displayed in whatever place you would put it and that equipment slot will not be able to function. Like it wouldn't actually go in the weapon slot but it would be displayed as a weapon to other people, and you couldn't wield anything else.

Also..

Saradomin/Guthix/Zamorak fusion? plz?

Some fusions shouldn't even change your appearance at all, you could just use a different animation(for example, a cat-fusioned character could try to walk on all fours or just assume some sort of cat pose.

Also, definitely make it so that it's either a full transformation or none at all for certain animals.. We don't need furries in Runescape.

I would support this 100%. It sounds like fun.

Officially retired on 12/10/07, no drop parties because that might be "covertly trading wealth". What does one person's happiness(until they quit) mean compared to the hours I wasted while runecrafting, anyways?

Isn't polymorphism just a fancy way of say shape shifting, no offence

I like the idea, but some on the things are a bit unreal for rs, but i guess i'll support

Yeah, that's what polymorphism is; that's what you're basically doing here, which is why I said it that way. However, it's too long for a skill name, so I just went with skill fusion.

When you wear the ring of stone, people see your name when they put their mouse over you, so I don't think that will be a problem.

In all honesty, when I first saw the title, I thought "Oh, bloody hell, now they're ripping off Yu-Gi-Oh?" But now, this actually looks kinda good. A better name might be "Lycanthropy", since "Fusion" just seems like a spell name rather than a skill. Another idea would be to give some forms specials (spec bar changes color) which make sense (dragons get a wide-burst fire breath attack (3x2 in the direction the player's facing), cats get a rapid strike attack (multiple claw swipes), etc.). Sound good?

I just thought of something. When the spell is cast, a "timer" replaces the spec bar. It drains at a specified rate depending on your form and your lv in Lycanthropy, and when it runs down to 0, you're kicked back to normal. Using special abilities lowers this. Should help balance it out a bit. \'

I had not thought of using area-attacks within the fusions, but that does seem like a feasible idea. Of course, they have to be carefully examined for balance (i.e. you can't have someone doing a normal melee attack against everyone in a 3x3 area; that would make training extremely easy), but done correctly could work well.

As for the timer, that is true; there probably should be some kind of indicator as to the length of time remaining in the fusion. There needs to be either be some kind of overall bar timer, as you suggested, or there needs to be something that happens in the last 30 seconds or so of the fusion so that you're not suddenly caught off guard.

How about ,since when someone shifts into a form they do it mainly for combat, they get reduced exp or none at all for their actions (relating to the form anyway) in that form? That should probably make the first barrier nonexistent. And no, they don't have to be area attacks, just plausible extra abilities that go along with the stat boosts. What real good is morphing into a green dragon hybrid if you can't use their only real dangerous attack (to an extent, we don't want this to make wildy turn into a bloodbath! Do we? :uhh: :ohnoes: :-w )?
