September 18, 200718 yr http://www.boingboing.net/2007/09/17/ma ... uring.html Carlos Amejo, 33, of Caracas, Venezuela, was reportedly declared dead after a car wreck but woke up during an autopsy. (A Reuters report, summarizing an article from the Spanish-language El Universal, doesn't state why an autopsy had been ordered.) Amejo allegedly became alert when examiners started to stitch up an incision on his face. "I woke up because the pain was unbearable," Camejo said... His grieving wife turned up at the morgue to identify her husband's body only to find him moved into a corridor -- and alive. Wow. I would hate to wake up knowing im being cut open :ohnoes:
September 18, 200718 yr Good Lord, imagine how scary that is, doing an autopsy only to have the body wake up. Still, how could they mistake him for being dead?
September 18, 200718 yr Oh wow. At least he woke up before they got the hedge trimmers out to cut open his chest. :P

September 18, 200718 yr They should've known something was wrong when they started - dead people don't bleed.
September 18, 200718 yr They should've known something was wrong when they started - dead people don't bleed. Exactly, I mean most dead people turn blue/ whitish colour and he probably had rosy cheeks, sounds a bit weird :-s
September 18, 200718 yr What a gory miracle, I mean come on anytime before the autopsy would have been good, but i guess a little further on in the autopsy could have been worse  Im FrotoWE HAVE TO TAKE THE RING TO MOODOOR!Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?Final Fantasy 7
September 18, 200718 yr I can laugh at this too, it's like a bonus prize for the doctor. You know you're having a good day when you save someone in an autopsy! :P This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
September 18, 200718 yr I can laugh at this too, it's like a bonus prize for the doctor. You know you're having a good day when you save someone in an autopsy! :P Only to be sued for malpractice later on!!!! I'm a married mother that plays RuneScape. Got a problem with that?
September 18, 200718 yr His heart had probably slowed down to the point of inaudibility. It happens frequently in cases of shock. He wouldn't bleed as much, either. It happened on CSI, too :P. September 18, 200718 yr Wow, that reminds me of that short story that Stephen King wrote. The one about the Golfer who got bit by some weird snake and became paralysed :ohnoes: [insert birds flying in a circle here]Yes, that sig was annoying.
September 18, 200718 yr That poor wife! What a horrible thing to have happen. More like a happy thing! Having to identify a body only for him to be alive! I'm sure she woulda been over the moon ̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¢Ã¢ââ¬Ã
September 18, 200718 yr His heart had probably slowed down to the point of inaudibility. It happens frequently in cases of shock. He wouldn't bleed as much, either. It happened on CSI, too :P. Yea, but on CSI, they only figured it out because the guy started bleeding when they tried to cut open his chest. And if he was conscious enough to realize how much the stitches hurt, his wounds would probably be bleeding. Edit: Found the article, and the examiners started the autopsy, he started bleeding, and they stitched up his face. Makes more sense now lol.
September 18, 200718 yr Remember that coroners are also spread thinly. My county has over 2 million people in it, but only one coroner! And this is in Venezuela. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. Not all of them are dieing, though. :P You'd be surprised. My grandmother died this past summer, and it took 8 hours for the coroner to arrive to legally pronounce her dead.
