The Ditch and Wilderness

What an eyesore! The scar across the landscape looks rather benign for a protecting barrier against a battle-ridden land of chaos and death. Here's what I propose.

 

 

 

The Ditch should look more horrifying and really become a beacon of warning. Skulls and bone fragments scattered in and around the Ditch [1 square] as well being pock-marked by craters big and small! Spears and broken arrows jutting from the ground! The remains of a warrior crushed into the dirt by an unknown foe. The bones could be attributed to those that fight in the Wilderness or maybe remains of the workers who had dug the ditch.

 

 

 

 

 

As for the rest of the Wilderness, um, just throw in a couple large craters.

 

 

 

Oh, wait. And maybe a single large open field where battle had taken place centuries ago. It can be littered with remains from that battle, as well as a few dozen implings still scavenging for little trinkets.

 

 

 

The use of the imps, I really don't have a good idea for. I was thinking that the location would be in about level 35-40 in the Wilderness. These imps would have an extremely high chance of dropping beads, which you could use to bait Magic Boxes and catch some imps hanging around that battlefield. You could then go to level 30 Wilderness (necessary level to release them) and set them free and bank some valuable loot you've recieved from a PK or from training.

Fine, I'll try to do some pics of the ditch. I was also thinking that maybe it could be a wall with a magical force field (like in Castle Wars) and it would look way cooler.

I would have preferred a mist (possibly blood?) wall or something like that. The ditch needs to be made into something else that won't hurt rc-ing and such so badly. I support too. :thumbsup:

Well, the function of the Ditch would still exist, sadly. That's kinda the whole reason it's there. So even with a new look, it'll still work the way it does now...

I would think the ditch would disapear if you chose an option just like the warning sign you first get when you cross it. This would help abyss runecrafters. Or there could be a bridge across it by the river near edge that you can only go across if you have turned the warning off.

Dude, what I am saying is that I want something equivalent to the ditch to exist, but, I want it to be something like a mist wall that you can only run through if you've dismissed the warning or turned it off entirely.

 

 

 

In short, ditch ... without the ditch.

 

 

 

That way, those who need to hit into wildi at a dead run can, and those who want or need the warning for a little while can have that too.

 

 

 

Also in short, trying to walk into or past the mist wall would result in the warning.

 

 

 

So yeah, it would be "Ditch V2.0", but without having to wait for a lame time-costing animation, and would allow some restoration of certain wildi parameters, and would not cost the poisoned so badly like the current one does. (I really think it isn't nice that they got one in the foot like the rc'ers did.)

 

 

 

Having the current "Ditch V1.xx" just does not work.

I kinda get what you're saying. Have a mist wall, that you can walk through and keep going without stopping except for the one-time warning you get each log in.

 

 

 

But the Ditch has been out for several months now. If Jagex were to implement an option to avoid the Ditch, they would've done so by now.

 

My idea is just to make it look better because the function won't be changed, or at least for many months.

 

But, then again, if they were to update the look of the Ditch they might as well add an option at that point.

Yeah, I support. There is an ancient battlesite though, west of the Dark Warrior's Castle.

 

 

 

But, a big hole in the ground isn't really a big Danger! Beacon to a place where people shove Scimitars and Arrows down each other's throats.

Erm, sorry, but that kind of thing falls apart here.

 

 

 

Jagex does not want to be the next MiniClip, and they also have blood splats on the ground in wildi.......... oh, and this game is supposed to be medieval-based by nature, so it is supposed to have dark stuff like that!
