Necromagus
...Unreal Tournament is old now? I guess the oldest game that I can consider 'pretty' is the original Prince of Persia. It really set the mood even though the graphics were pretty simple, and the primitive motion capture they used for the animation really set the game apart from other DOS games of the late 80s/early 90s. Another game that had great graphics for its time was the original Ducktales game, where you had to collect as much treasure in 30 days through cave and jungle exploring, mountaineering and photography. It really captured the spirit of the cartoon well. ctp080188
Did anyone ever play a pc game called captain keen? I also had a game as far as I know was called "Prince". And it was a Indiana Jones-esque game. All I remember is [bleep]es on the ground and a swinging rope. Narrows it down huh... EDIT: I just saw the other topic on commander keen, probably what I am thinking of. SHH HUT YUH MUH. DERKHED.
underu2000
http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=692081 Old topic, that thread has a lot of old games. Pong being the oldest of course. Check out the 2nd page for pics of the classic old games. - Yeah, UT is old...The first one is 8 years or so old, is it not? -Captain Keen?....Pogo stick? Mattel-esque gun? Kidnapped Baby sitter? Yep, that's Commander Keen for sure. -Prince of Persia was the hardest game of all time. To date, I have not found a person who completed it...It was innovative, but hardly entertaining. Aaah.....nightmares of dungeons, [bleep]es, dungeons, [bleep]es, dungeons and [bleep]es.... Life is a joke. Yeah, I don't get it either.

remoteman
Woah, looking back at that thread with the pictures i noticed descent! i'm going to have to find that now, i used to play that, and a game called hover which was these hovercraft things that you drove against a computer through a maze-like level to collect the flags. Super Metriod on SNES is up there, and we used to have our cousins mastersystem, so probably something on that, but i can't remember any of the games... Descent... [hide=Age of Empires coverart][/hide] Except for age of mythology...AoM is better and more innovative than even the Blizzard rts's in my opinion (warcraft and starcraft), but i guess it got tiring fast. ThurinEthir
Hah, AoE 1 pwns you all! [hide=Age of Empires coverart][/hide] FTW! I got AoE Collector's Edition near the end of August (Yeah, I'm a few years behind :P ) and I'm still trying to beat the Yamato Campaign. It's pwnage. I haven't played AoK (AoEII) yet, but it sounds pretty good. Oldies but goodies. (And I heard something about a third expansion coming out for AoE sometime this month. For the 10 year anniversary of the first release. o.0) Cenin pân nîd, istan pân nîd, dan nin ú-cenich, nin ú-istach.Ithil luin eria vi menel caran...Tîn dan delu.
