Note: Mods Already Have This Beneficial Power. This Thread Is Suggesting It Be Brought To the General RuneScapian

~~~~~~~~~~~
It's true. RuneScape is becoming infected with the virus known as "autoers". Lots of times however, people want to report them as much as they can, but there's so many! And their names are so confusing. You simply can't be bothered with that much time for that many bots.
But what if we took out the entire remembering names like "k31hien2l33s" and "j g 1I1I" and typing them out altogether? :-k
Right-Click Reporting!
It works like this: You find someone as an autoer, you right click their name in the chatbox, or on their name ingame, click "report [player name]", click under their offense, and JaGex recieves your report, making RuneScape a better place! \'
It's so frightfully simple and efficient!!! :ohnoes: :ohnoes:
Thanks to Bac_Talan for first picture!
Everyone please tell me what you think, I think this idea could be great for mass reporting and even regular reporting, just by taking out 1 step.
Look at this example.
I know you don't want to type that.
Why is that so?
Anyway moderators can mute players and a crown infront of their name.
They benefit more anyway.
FTP player.
Goal:
85/90 smithing. 12,000,000/100,000,000 coins.
Total hacked and scammed losses:
1 billion coins +/- (Not in today's currency).
Player Moderators benefit more because they don't have a 60 second time limit between reports.
You misunderstood me.
What I'm trying to say is that even if jagex let us have right-click report abuse function, moderators will still have more benefit than us because they can mute players and a longer show time on reports.
I support, but a lot of the bots don't talk so how will their name end up in the chatbox..?
Didn't think about that :shock:
Right-click on them and click report abuse?
That works! :o
Bauke and killerred005, I think you guys support too!
no support, mods already have this power, and it would lead to abuse of the system, and im pretty sure that not everyone who posts supports, dont use " powers of inference" only put them for support if they actually say support. and to me, it doeasnt look li9ke bac talan supported at all, why is he on the lsit?
Of course I do. It's the most awesome thing ever! :o
Point proven.
And mods aren't too overpowered. They are here to moderate the game and enforce the rules, because Jagex would get so much spam, and frankly they dont have the time or want to bother hiring people.
Um, and how many mods are in this game in comparsion to regular players? There may be people who will abuse this system, but aren't reports reviewed before action is taken?
Exactly. The report abuse function is abused enough as it is. Making it easier for both legit and illegit reports most likely won't imbalance the current ratio.
Aye!
Judging by the (lack of) maturity of the community, you'd get far more irrelevant reports in, made by people who are angry because they were pk'ed or something like that. Actually needing to type out the name of the offending player requires a certain effort and a certain level of alphabetism, which helps counter some of the abuse.
So, no support.
You needed that 'certain level of alphabetism' to play and understand the game in the first place, but I do partly see your point. However this can be alleviated by placing in some well placed warnings about the implications of sending a bad report, and what is the difference between a good and a bad report, which I believe that the articles in the KB explain nicely. You know, Jagex could simply experiment with it and remove it if it doesn't work. I know it's very un-Jagex-like, but I think at this stage in the infamous battle with the bots and gold farmers, Jagex need to experiment a little, and get the legitimate players making a difference. There are not enough mods to take all of the rule breakers on.
Oh, and sorry insertmynamehere, I forgot to say, I support!
Hi, I haven't actually checked back in a while, and it's good to see posts have been made.
Leading me to...
I'm sorry, I'lll take off killerred and bauke cuz i did add them illigetly (is that used right?) And I added Will_holmes before he officially supported too lol... Sorry :oops:
Focusing on What Sumpta13 and Horntail203 said,
There are, again, only so many moderators in the game. And because the game is appealing to immature 13 year olds or younger (me included), a lot of these kids only want to be moderators for some bonuses, like the (awesome) crown, decreasing the moderator population. And also, irrelevent reports are already sent in. JAGeX can ban these people. If people knew the rules, Im sure that this would decrease, even if only a little.
I hope I got my point across... I feel like I talk too much :P
Nice one! I support this suggestion.
Question though. When you right click a player and select report abuse does it only copy the player name in the report abuse screen and do you still have to fill up a report afterwards?
It would still be the same as report abuse but only with the convenience of not having to type the name of the said abuser yourself.
It would be a lot easier to report l1Iil1lIl1Iil, 1iiiiiIiiiii1 or even iiiiiiiii10 (example names of players not real) by doing this than by typing in the name yourself. You could make a lot of mistake typing in names of other players. I have had a few encounters of player names that can't be easily typed in because it has many different capital letters, small letters and numbers all jumbled together that only the owner can understand or remember.
So this would be a lot to ease the way you can report stuff to JAGEX. And the abusers won't be able to hide in the middle of a crowd of people talking at the same time. Like what happens in the trade worlds where the chat scroll moves so fast you can't even see the names of who is talking what.
Thanks! If you right-click and hit report abuse, it will only fill in the name. This wouldn't just be for macros, but that is where it would help the most. "k 2 1I1" has God knows how many spaces.
Dionekele do you support? I'm guessing yes but... you know :uhh:
