Lightshayde
I heard somewhere that Jagex might be starting a project for allowing Runescape to be played on a console such as the xbox360 or the PS3. Any intel? (Even if it isn't in development, wouldn't it be so tempting if we could play RS with improved graphics, better sound, etc.?) (Of course, I'm not saying that Rs's graphics are too terrible for words, but they DO need improvements and I don't mean those slow-dying monsters that fade into the ground. That's just really annoying.) Avatar by Unoalexi!

Nom
Uh, no. What you probably heard was the possibilty of playing Runescape on the Wii, because the Wii has an internet browser. And there is already a whole topic on this in General somewhere.
Brad25891
No. Jagex has stated that they have considered and are tempted to put runescape on to a console, but to be honest, i think it will never happen, it will never compete with the likes of Halo 3, GTA4 ect.. adam_ross0
I doubt they'll do it. It'd never compete with games like Assassin's creed...Halo 3...among others. Although you can use the Wii's web browser to play RS.
Lionheart_0
Although you can use the Wii's web browser to play RS. :? I've tried, and I cant, how do you? Sig by IkuraiYour Guide to Posting! adam_ross0
I haven't, I dont own a wii >.< But back when I used to play it, people all over the official Forums were saying 'Im playing RS on my Wii/PSP'...I really dont know how, sorry You could play RS through the Wii, PSP, and the Xbox (using Linux as a desktop on the xbox, however) though... Brad25891
You cant play rs on a wii unless #1 you sync your wii remote with your computer(yes its possible) #2 you basically 'hack' your wii. The Wii's web browser does not support java at this moment in time, but maybe sometime in the future it will? Who knows :-w Deviant Art Account2 Signatures | 6 Photographs | 1 Other

Well they were most defently lying about playing runescape on a psp. The psp does not support Java, does not meet the minimum requirements, and does not have a high enough screen resolution. Bloodredsword
Yeah...Runescape on console.... :mrgreen:no MAYBE, if they spent a good 4 years on it, it might be possible to make a game on the scale of WoW. But thats a big fat maybe right there. Listen to the mighty words of Bloodredsword. Tip it MGC Xbox live leader board!
sycosis5
This is what JaGeX would have to consider -Will people pay more for this game + Console when they have a perfectly good PC? -Will they make a profit? -Would the controls work? ANSWER TO ALL IS NO
AThousandLies
There's a possibility of them transporting the Runescape franchise onto console in the form of another game based on the MMORPG, but I don't see the game's current incarnation going to the console anytime soon, if at all. whiteguy
Jagex don't need to work there. Only Nintendo for the Wii, Microsoft for the Xbox360 etcc.. Just need to run Java, maybe release a keyboard and there. You could play the game in the browser. Not actually buiyng a CD and play it.
