I'm in the deep south and I agree with alot of it, but I wouldn't say alot of christians are this way, most may feel it, but they aren't outspoken about it, which I fully respect, I'm not outspoken about being an athiest so I don't see why they need to do it either, and a lot of them don't, its only a few that feel they need to be nosy and believe just a little too much.

Tbh, when people start pulling sh-- like the topic, or killing abortion doctors, I lose all tolerance for them. I know there are some decent churches that mind their own buisness and stick to their religon, but christians seem to be responsable for a large portion of the hatred and injustice in our country. But I really don't feel like getting in a debate about religon, it just ends up as a flame war that ruins the topic.. So I'll be getting off :)

I have a feeling this punishment has gone a little too far. We're almost treating this as though the whole of that church was involved in the picketing. I simply don't believe that to be true. 1I suppose it's the leaders' fault for this, but why should tolerant Baptists be punished for the actions of a mindless few1? Yeah, I think it refers to the fact that Fred Phelps is literally the grandpa of most of that church, as well as being its leader. So saying "put Grandpa in his place" is actually rather justified.

May not be relevant to this thread, but is relevant to the fact that tip.it has a underlying negative perception of Christians. Your not going to find anything with only pro-Christian comments. Nothing about how a church saves some young orphans and everyone says "Yay those Christiansare doing a good thing!" No, even if Chrstians solved world hunger, restored world peace and stopped global warming, people (including the majority of tip.it) would still persecute them and their beliefs.
