Hoopster211
Well, this has been my favorite band for a while now. If anyone else likes them, what do you think abut their new album... i think it's way different and honestly I don't like it as much. Their songs are a lot softer than before, but they are still kinda catchy. And btw, if you've never heard them before, you can hear all of their songs at: http://Somewhereyoubelong.com [/bads]

RpgGamer
I already made a Linkin Park thread some time ago. guess it died. . Linkin Park is my all time favorite band I have all but 2 of their albums (Xero sampler and hybrid theory EP) and I love evry secnond that they play. As for Minutes to Midnight...its easyily the worst album they have out right now, but its still rather good. I hope their next album has more songs like "faint" on it. But don't get me wrong, my favorite song of all time is "In the End" and second fave of all time being "Numb". so don't even try to call me out for being a biased metal head. bottom line: I LOVE Linkin Park! Because they sound like crap... Well, I used to be into them, but that was a while back. I liked them alot a few years ago, but then I started listening to much better stuff, never went back. Nadril
They're horrible. Lyrics that mean nothing at all and they sound like crap. How do they mean nothing? I'm tired of being what you want me to be Feeling so faithless lost under the surface Don't know what you're expecting of me Put under the pressure of walking in your shoes (Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow) Every step that I take is another mistake to you (Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow) [Chorus] I've become so numb I can't feel you there Become so tired so much more aware I'm becoming this all I want to do Is be more like me and be less like you Can't you see that you're smothering me Holding too tightly afraid to lose control Cause everything that you thought I would be Has fallen apart right in front of you (Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow) Every step that I take is another mistake to you (Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow) And every second I waste is more than I can take [Chorus] I've become so numb I can't feel you there Become so tired so much more aware I'm becoming this all I want to do Is be more like me and be less like you And I know I may end up failing too But I know You were just like me with someone disappointed in you [Chorus] I've become so numb I can't feel you there Become so tired so much more aware I'm becoming this all I want to do Is be more like me and be less like you [Chorus] I've become so numb I can't feel you there I'm tired of being what you want me to be I've become so numb I can't feel you there I'm tired of being what you want me to be Oh my, so meaningful! NOT. And hell, some of their songs just sound like they got a dictionary out and tried searching for all the words that seem like they mean something, and then threw them all into a mess of a song. wakka102
I use to Love Linkin Park, I still do, for their old stuff. I have Hybrid Theory in my car and enjoy driving to it, it sounds great with alot of Bass and I could care less what the lyrics are, half my music you can't understand the lyrics anyways, lyrics serve no purpose to me. It's the mood and tone of the music that matters to me. However, they are the best example of a sellout band that I've ever seen. When I heard they were making Minutes to Midnight I got excited because I figured it would be like Hybrid Theory or Meteora which had the Nu-Metal sound that I miss so much that was popular in the mid to late 90's, however, it was a total disaster of an album! I can't stand any song on the entire album, they changed their sound so drastically that it just sounds like some stupid punk band or indie band and no longer like Linkin Park. Hopefully they will redeem themselves with their next release, I highly doubt it though.

I am a loyal fan, so I love whatever they pump out  Quote Quote Anyone who likes tacos is incapable of logic. Anyone who likes logic is incapable of tacos. Suiblade
I enjoy "Crawling", "Papercut" and "Lying from You", but other than those particular songs I dislike Linkin Park. Also, all of the songs from their "Minutes to Midnight" album are possibly some of the most horrendous pieces of "music" ever. ...Irn2metal. How2PK
I always kind of liked that first single that came on t.v. here in europe, One Step Closer. It was kind of hard, and well, it was catchy. In the end was alright as well. But I kind of grew over them, which is what most people will do. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore! Hoopster211
They never "sold out". IIf they were really in it for the money and the fame, why would they stop doing what gave them that? In other words, why would they try this new softer sound instead of sticking to the harder stuff they knew everyone liked? Because it's how they really feel and people change over time. And the reason their lyrics are so vague is because they want to relate to people. Chester even said himself that he doesn't like to go into detail with his lyrics, he just keeps it at a general perspective. [/bads]

kelem_ryu
The first time i heard that new album. It's better then Meteora imo. The latter sounded a bit like a rip off of Hybrid Theory. I kinda like them, they might be posers a bit, but their music goes into my ear and their lyrics (not all of them of course) mean something to me. No bomb like "Crawling" on their new album though. warri0r45
I like their live in texas DVD, but I wouldn't call myself a fan, i.e. I'd probably never buy anything else of thiers (actually my brother bought the DVD) or even bother downloading any of thier stuff. I'm with Nadril. Their lyrics aren't all that meaningful and there are way better bands with a way better grasp for writing out there. As for their new album, as I said, I'd never buy thier stuff, but I wouldn't even touch thier new album if I were infected with anthrax and the cure was taped to it.
