The same goes for Perks.

Stopping Power, which is arguably the best Perk 2, UAV Jammer, and Last Stand are all great perks, that (I think) are all unlocked at Level 4, when you can make your own classes...

I just unlocked P90 at Level 40, and I love it =0

Best perks if you ask me are:

Bandolier

Frag x3

Stopping Power

UAV Jammer

Deep Impact

Iron Lungs

You can easily unlock the 3 mentioned in your first game after prestiging.

I think its better and fairer than world at war, where you get the "best" guns at higher levels. Though as WaW is so unbalanced all you need is an MP40.

Untrue, you start with the M16, MP5 and M40 in COD4.

He meant for WaW you unlock the best guns at higher levels. Which is true with the PPSH and PTRS, etc.

My mistake, but still in WAW you pretty much start with the best guns.

Well I went through 1 and a half prestiges before returning to cod4.

Id say that

MP40> all guns.

PTRS-41> All other sniper rifles hands down

MG42> About all other MGs, maybe not the BAR

M1 Carbine> All rifles

For shotguns both are pretty awful. The pump action one only holds 4 shells and the semi-auto double barrel 2 shells ffs. But wait for it! You can you can saw it off so it has even less range!

Now, recently I've taken to shotgunning myself and cant seem to get headshots. I've only got 1 in like 40 kills so far. Does the entire spread have to hit them in the head for it to count? If so should I take steady aim? I've just been using extreme conditioning. This is with W1200 if that helps.

Maybe I'm only speaking from Hardcore, but a lot of those guns are beaten. The MP40 is certainly a good gun, but the same can be pulled off with a Thompson or a Type 100, and don't even start with saying that it beats the PPSh. The MP40's range sucks, also. The PTRS is probably the best sniper rifle, but the Springfield is very good as well. The MG is a good machine gun, but the Type 99 is great too, and the FG is great later on when it's unlocked. The Dinner Plate (the DP, hehe) is also an extremely capable gun and is just about amazing on any map. I also personally like the Browning more than the MG. I really like the M1 carbine, but I thought most would call the Gewehr overpowered. Great accuracy (might be a little bit better than the carbine), total semi-automatic capabilities and pretty good power make it a beast on Hardcore and certainly a good weapon on normal. I can't really say much for the shotguns, but both can be used in different situations. I find them both fun, but they're certainly no match against SMGs.

Because the DS version was just farmed out to another developer to help line Activision's pockets.

  • 2 weeks later...

I need your opinions...

After Im done with the first sniper (M40something?), and before I unlock the Barret .50 Cal, which sniper should I use? Dragunov or R700? I know Dragunov is faster, but R700 is more accurate and better at some other thing I forgot =)

Also, is there a way to tell how much recoil a gun has? Is it one of the five bars?

I'd say its personal preference.

I prefer the Dragunov.

Could you give your reasons?

BTW, gratz on 5000 posts! \' (the one I quoted was your 4999th ::' )

I switched to it when I started sniping. It was the first gun I got all the camos for.

Its supposed to have bad recoil, but you can still pull off the two kill shot aiming at the body.

Okay, new question:

I like to keep a class with a ACOG Scoped weapon, an assault, SMG, or LMG. At the moment I use it on my M60, but is there anything better I could use it on?

G36C. There is virtually no aim sway, the biggest problem with ACOGs.

I finally got my Barret .50 caliber sniper rifle back after not having it for so long <3:

It feels good to shoot people and here that long bang again...

M14/M21.

I prefer M21 because you get a ghillie which is always nice.

So don't let anyone tell you you're not worth the earth,

These streets are your streets, this turf is your turf,

Don't let anyone tell you that you've got to give in,

Cos you can make a difference, you can change everything,

Just let your dreams be your pilot, your imagination your fuel,

Tear up the book and write your own damn rules,

Use all that heart, hope and soul that you've got,

And the love and the rage that you feel in your gut,

And realise that the other world that you're always looking for,

Lies right here in front of us, just outside this door,

And it's up to you to go out there and paint the canvas,

After all, you were put on the earth to do this,

So shine your light so bright that all can see,

Take pride in being whoever the [bleep] you want to be.

You always get a ghillie suit for all the sniper rifles, providing that you are on the SAS/Spetsnaz maps.

The M4 scoped is awsome imo.

And to your earlier sniper question R700 v Dragonov, Id have to disagree and go for M21 but thats because im a bad sniper and love to spam ::'

M14 is classed as an assault rifle though.

Tbh i've never seen a ghillie suit as a great advantage. In many situations it actually gives you a bigger outline.
