Dave Grohl this time.

Result of a tutorial I made. Someone at a local forum asked me for a tutorial on the style of my current sig. So I made a tutorial.

It's in Dutch, but I could translate it and post here if you guys would like that.

Lovely! Big fan of Foo Fighters too.

Well, it's really nicely done once again, I've always liked illustrator sigs. Too bad, I don't have it ::'

I need to get one of those! :wall:

Basically it uses paths (similar to the photoshop tool) to make lines etc that you can fill and modify.

Vectors use a mathematical principle called a Bezier Curve, which describes the line that links two points together, although it gets much more complicated.

Because it just uses the maths to calculate the image, they are infinitely scalable. In photoshop if you zoom to 400% it looks pixelated, in illustrator it would look smooth. You can scale up as well, even to like 4000% or much much higher.

Thats why when you design a logo for a company it's good to use vectors, so they can put it on a business card, the website or a huge billboard.

Well that's the info behind it anyway. :D

That's a great style, also love the Foo Fighters :)

The tutorial would be nice too :D

Wow very nice, I am learning Illustrator and such as we speak and the tutorial would be great. I particularly like the one in your sig above the other one though.

Very cool work DH, I am more and more impressed withyour work each time. Did you use illustrator to make that? And is the background background also vector or some kind of pattern? (the really tiny stuff)

Why should we buy postage stamps when we can make our own?

Not quite a fan of the colours, and it seems a bit blurred/softened in areas.

Great work on the face, though. :) Really neat.

I love it, it looks awesome, Also, I'd like to see the tutorial ::'

I like the concept, but the colors ruin it for me.

Color is a personal preference, so you can't really base a rating off of that. I find the colors go well with each other.

Not sure how I fell about it, but it is done well.

I've always liked your work.
