Cost effective way of training magic

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I am currently level 42 in magic. I really need some cost effective ways of training up to do high level quests (swan song, family crest, etc.) I have about 300k I'm willing to part with, but can easily make more if I need to.

Advice please!

P.S. I have read some guides in the guide section but just testing the waters to see if there are any other methods out there.

curses

doesn't it take awhile for the curse to ware off before you can cast it again? I tried it and just didn't have much success waiting around 2 mins before I could cast again

This is probaly over your limit but worth it.

Buy a mud staff and auto curse, also wear bonuses against magic attack like rune armour so that you fail and dont have to click over and over.

You cant auto spell curse spells. Not even with a mud staff. But "Splash Curse" Training that he suggested is a decenet option if your not afraid to waste some runes.

Cursing is good if you want CTS (carpal tunnel syndrome)..

I was planning on trying it out until I heard you couldn't autocast.. that definatly makes it out of the question in my mind. But if you can withstand the constant clicking, then by all means go right ahead and do it, because it's probably the most cost effective way for the exp you're going to get.

If your not a fan of constant clicking, you can try fire bolting, wearing negative mage attack bonus armor it is the same thing as cursing only with autocasting.

Apparently, my signature was to big.

But if you decide to go for cursing I suggest the following:

Wear the best metal armour you can wear. Grab an earth staff and enough waters and bodies to cast as many as you wish. Then head to the varrock castle and keep op cursing the Mage of Zamorak in the prison behind the stairs (Near the king). Almost 100% chance of splashing

Im thinking about trying to level by using the MTA (Mage training area) in al karid.

I hear the enchanting is good xp. Has anyone tried it out?

It is good exp, but people typically use it with at least a Dragonstone enchant, though it's best at Onyx.

Not sure how cost effective or fast it is at lower enchants.

At your level, I ran law runes and did Fally teleports till level 45, then switched to Camelot telports. If you run the law runes, this is almost free experience -- just the cost of the waters from 42 to 45.

Wind blasts are also really cheap if you cat farm.
