December 2, 200718 yr This is a slightly strange topic but I'll give it a try anyway. I've got 2 scenarios and I'm curious as to which one you'd pick. I got this idea from watching the Elf movie the other night where a human lived with the Elves at the North Pole. The two scenarios are: Would you prefer to live in: 1. A world which is designed for short people (dwarves, elfs etc.) where you are a 6 Foot 5 (192.5cm approx.) human. This would require you constantly ducking under doorways, having to get onto your knees or bum (most likely) to be able to be comfortable in one of their houses, and having to reach down far to constantly get anything. With a little imagination this would show that you'd be getting a very sore back after a while and cause back problems in the future not to mention how annoying and frustrating it would be to go anywhere indoors. Or: 2. A world which was full of giants (or abnormally sized human beings 10 Foot tall etc), where you are only around 5 Foot 6 tall (approx. 165cm). This would involve you having to carry a ladder around just to get to anything. Food in shops, sitting down on chairs, turning on and off taps or getting to any stationary (placed) objects etc. A little imagination of daily activities would be required to realise the total hassle of this scenario. Obviously both scenarios are totally hypothetical and would never occur but I'm interested in seeing people's responses. For Me I'd probably choose #2. At least you'd build up pretty large biceps carrying around your step ladder all day. Or maybe I'd be ingenious and learn to walk around on stilts all day. :P But an advantage of #1 I can think of, off the top of my head is that its a lot easier looking down at people than looking up constantly. Anyway post away, hopefully this thread gets some responses. :
December 2, 200718 yr Haha, tough choice. Either not be able to fit through things or not be able to reach things. The difference is you can't just adjust doorways to make you fit yet you can take a step ladder to make you reach. It'll probably fit through those big doors too.
December 2, 200718 yr Hah. As much as I'd love to just be a f***ing giant (can you imagine how feared you would be?) I think being tiny would probably be easier. However I do think it would be more fun being giant.
December 2, 200718 yr I'd take option A because it's a relatively simple process in that situation to set myself up as an overlord and have the little people build me a normal-sized manor house and tend my fields. December 2, 200718 yr I'd take option A (me big) and bully the little dwarfs into building me a house my size =] A friend to all is a friend to none.
December 2, 200718 yr #2 of course :). Apart from it being easier, maybe you could get giant steroids and grow a bit while in #1, you can't grow smaller. Proud Retired Council of The GladiatiorzClick here for our website - 110+ F2P Combat Requirements
December 2, 200718 yr I'd rather be a giant. I could help the little people out with the advantages I have and in return maybe they will help me with the disadvantages I have. We can work together as a team so that the little people didn't ever see me as superior or a mis-fit, either end of the dominance scale. I would be different but important to some. I like people to look up to me but not to fear me. Because I would be big, I would intimidate a lot of the smaller people but hopefully they will come to realise I'm the same small person they are inside, I just look tougher and fierce on the outside. I would just wonder off somewhere and build my own house big enough to fit in and the people, who can over look my fierceness on the outside, would be the people deserving enough to share what I have to offer. If people judged me too quickly and didn't want to see past their own illusions of me, I would sleep well at night knowing I'm still bigger than them. I would be like the BFG haha.. (big friendly giant). I wouldn't like to be small because I would fear people wouldn't see me significant enough and needy. I also wouldn't like to waste a lot of time going through ridiculous efforts to get the giants to hear me out. I don't like constantly asking for help and if I didn't have something different about me so the giants could recognise me and avoid me or pay attention to me, I probably wouldn't survive. They'd step on me and destroy me or I'd probably isolate myself from everyone and everything, until I get annoyed enough that the giants know I won't take their [cabbage], then they'll realise this small person can be just as big and scary as they can be, so to back off and let me do my own thing. I like this activity, brings out a lot of unconscious truths. There are many tests like this; such as photos of two people and people have to explain what they think is going on in the photo. I might do a post on it, when I can get around to it so thanks for the idea. December 2, 200718 yr #1 for sure. I'd be like, a giant evil overlord of DOOM! Yeah. I like that. sleep like dead men wake up like dead men

December 2, 200718 yr I'd rather live with the little people (me being politically correct hehe) then live with giants. Imagine if you piss one of them off. They'd literally mop the floor with you. With me being the giant I would be a circus sideshow freak and in a cage. And little dwarf children would throw popcorn at me all day long and poke me with sticks. I pick a world of giants. I mean why wouldn't I pick a world with giant these:
December 2, 200718 yr This is very interesting... I'm going to take a stab at peoples personalities through what they've written in the dwarf stories. Hells - You have a dominant mother, father or family member who is very intimidating to you when they get angry. You don't like to be singled out or rebel against the person who is doing this because they will belittle you and make you feel unworthy. On the plus side, when you do what this person says, they reward you. Your family is probably very wealthy and you just roll with the punches they throw. You will find a dominant girl to marry because you are set in your ways and enjoy people making the decisions for you. Purfish - You have the ability to be popular but you feel tighter hanging out with the people you consider family to you. Teh langzor - You just want people to hear you out and make some people in your life feel the same way they've made you feel. Goddess - You are friendly and helpful until people tred on your toes too often, then you turn in to a troll instead of a giant. Mrmyk - You're introverted but are dealing with it by getting fit. Strowez - You are dominant and sometimes arrogant and are happy so long as you're the alpha male or leader. People who know you would call you cocky. Zonorhc - You are the alpha male, you are the 'leader' of the boys and a lot of people admire you. Although you are dominant, you are fair. Nadril - You're a fence sitter. You love to be a giant but as soon as a bigger giant comes along, you like to blend in and be the grey person to avoid conflict. You're like the substitute giant, who fills in when the other giants are on holidays or absent. Warrior - You're the wisest, you follow others but climb the ladder quite comfortably and easily roll equally with all the tougher giants. And if the tougher giants feel the need to be tougher, you'll just find a ladder of equal height to meet them at the same level. In your life, there will never be small people or giant people, just people of the same size because you don't give people special treatment over others. Ele - You're introverted but are also dealing with it by gyming it up, people like you because you're creative and different. You have the ability to be a giant but you really can't be bothered because you'd rather just have fun. How did I do :P Hells - you have the same personality as my boyfriend so you and I would probably get along the best. I also invite Ele and mrmyk to have a chat one day, the two of you are very similar. I would say warrior and purfish could build off one another very constructively. Nadril everyone is curious about and takes notice of even when he acts as a grey person, because he is interesting. Teh would be seen by people as an angry person but he just needs guidance. Zon and I would get along very well because he has the same personality as my father. Zon and strowez would clash, strowez and I would clash, warrior would give strowez a run for his money. The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours.

You're wrong about everything but the part about me not wanting to be singled out. I don't like being singled out in school and stuff and I'm quite a conformist when it comes to that. But I'm more open around my family. My parents think I have rebellious thoughts and try to force me to go to church. Nice try though. :P

I haven't learnt to tell the difference between the two yet but it is something fun to practise. I like the sense of humour you used at the end with the ice cream though, you totally remind me of my Brent :) But once again this is a really sweet topic Ele, thanks for posting it. December 2, 200718 yr I'd rather be a giant. If I'm that tall (and big), it wouldn't be hard to make a house and such for myself. If I were a midget, I would feel helpless most of the time. I doubt I'd be able to carry around a ladder the whole day. People would have to reach things for me, and I dont want to be a nuisance. Plus, people will respect you more if you're stronger than weaker. Trix.--quit WoW as of 12/07Thank you 4be2jue for the wonderful sig and avatar!

December 2, 200718 yr Strowez - You are dominant and sometimes arrogant and are happy so long as you're the alpha male or leader. People who know you would call you cocky. Very nice indeed! Though I've never been called cocky by my friends :( although I suspect they may think that - gotta tune it down a notch :o A friend to all is a friend to none.

December 2, 200718 yr Depends, if I'm allowed to be creative and do things like build my own house I would rather be the giant. If I have to live in a small house, I guess I would rather be the dwarf. It would be nasty if you pissed of the giants, since they could easily beat you up, but you could always just stay away from them and I'd rather have to carry a ladder than having to bent over all the time... And if you are the giant and you're in a bad mood it would be easy to play the evil overlord and vent on the little ones. :P Though I have to admit there is little chance of me doing that.
December 2, 200718 yr If I was a dwarf everyone would think I was cute, but if I was a giant I would just stomp everyone and become their leader. I choose giant. SHH HUT YUH MUH. DERKHED.
December 2, 200718 yr B, simply because being small give me so much more advantages in agility against my 10 foot peers. And anyways, look at a show like George Shrinks. He is what, like 2" tall (like 30 cm) yet he can live along with his family and peers perfectly well (as long as he has his inventions :P ). Plus, as a small person, I can be easily missed and hide away if I wish. Sig by IkuraiYour Guide to Posting! Behave or I will send my Moose mounted Beaver launchers at you!
December 2, 200718 yr actually know a girl who's #2, kinda. She's about 5 feet tall, maybe shorter. Actuall, yea, definetely shorter. I don't think she has dwarfism, she;s pretty proportional...Anyways, she gets along fine. But as for me, I;d take number 1 and just live outside. Nothing like the great outdoors.
