I like finding out what i need the day of the skill, just like construction and hunter (even tho I did stock up before farming). Besides, with not exactly knowing what there is to prepare, thats how some people make their fortunes :P.

Dunno about the rune thing, but they've already confirmed that bird eggs will be useful, and I'm sure most of us have a least a few of those in the bank. I myself have 99 lol.

 

 

 

Most people have less than ten. I hope bird eggs aren't required to level it, otherwise Summoning will be just another skill that only the lucky or the rich can effectively level.

I don't think that Jagex will let us get the skilling material in advance for this skill. Well, except the bird eggs then :P. I believe that it's first when the skill is released as we will be able to start getting and collecting the material we will need to train summoning.

I think you got it right when you said "another noob". I'm going to choose to interpret it as "a different noob from myself"... If you're going to restate someone else's ideas, at least do it in a way that adds to the discussion without flaming anybody.

 

 

 

And yes, they confirmed that the life rune will not be used. I don't think birds' eggs will be prominent either, except maybe in high-level summoning, unless Jagex introduce some other way to gather them - they're simply too hard to get. There's no way powerleveling is going to involve supplies that are that rare. It's akin to dragon arrows in fletching - sure, it's good exp per, but the supplies are too rare.

 

 

 

Anyone have any ideas on how to powerlevel summoning? If it's anything like most people seem to think, it's gonna be pretty hard to level...

I'm prepping by collecting chicken eggs and ashes. I'm not sure if the ashes are necessarily going to be used, but if they aren't, then I'll just sell them 15 each at the GE :D . As for the chicken eggs, imagine all members attacking the few chicken farms for eggs before/during the update. Get yours ahead of time. People might even buy the, at ridiculous prices if they are too lazy to get it themselves :thumbsup:

 

 

 

You do realize that many members have larders in their houses that give unlimited eggs, right? Those'll keep them from reaching panic levels.

Summoning is a SEPARATE skill from Magic. My bet is that it won't use runes at all.

 

 

 

And in the event that they do make use of runes, who's to say it will have an altar? Blood and soul runes don't have altars.

There will be life runes. If they weren't going to put them into the skill they would not have talked about them in the first Development Diary for the skill. Who says it has to be magic to use runes? It's just a raw material used for a skill, not necessarily magic.

 

 

 

They mentioned Life Runes because they were part of the early development of Summoning. Now they changed their mind and won't have it. Jeeze, spend 5 seconds and read a little.

In the farming preperation, people would actually stand hours and hours near a farmer respawn in order to get tools and farming boots.

 

 

 

Then, when the update was released it turned out the tools were sold in a store for like 5 gp each, and the farming boots were useless. Hehe..

and killing the mole I guess that has to do with how good your combat skills are mostly.
