When jagex released farming they let people collect seeds a month in advance.. so why not do the same with summoning?

The farming had good and bad. It was good that we could get seeds in advance, but we didnt know what they were worth and what lvls they would be. There was some dishonesty with selling them..

 

 

 

They should give us the info needed to have some of the things needed for summoning collected though, I agree there.

Have they given an exact date for the release of summoning?

 

 

 

They could still give a month to collect materials ahead of time, if it's released in late January.

 

 

 

(being f2p, I never really check the updates, so it's quite possible a date has been given already)

The life rune will NOT be used. They only put it in the diary to show how long they've been developing summoning for. They never once stated that it'll be used in summoning and they said that the life rune was for when it was going to be another spell book, which they're not now going to do.

 

 

 

It's not that hard to read things correctly, don't skim over things such as this then post questions on it when it could have easily been answered by spending just a few more seconds reading.

i doubt that the eggs would be used to train the skill, but rather just to get a creature from them. How the skill will be leveled is beyond me but i would bet that combat creatures would lv similarly to how we lv, by dealing damage.

You don't need to be rich to get birds eggs, for the fact that you can't trade them. Woodcutting anyone can do, misc requires a mediocre amount of money to get the eggs(and selling the materials usually nets you back your cash and more), and killing the mole I guess that has to do with how good your combat skills are mostly.

Since only magic uses runes, and since they said it would be separate from magic, I don't think there will be life runes.

I'm prepping by collecting chicken eggs and ashes. I'm not sure if the ashes are necessarily going to be used, but if they aren't, then I'll just sell them 15 each at the GE :D . As for the chicken eggs, imagine all members attacking the few chicken farms for eggs before/during the update. Get yours ahead of time. People might even buy the, at ridiculous prices if they are too lazy to get it themselves :thumbsup:

Bird eggs WILL be used in summoning. However, I expect that there will be other ways of getting them, once the skill is released (or even a week or two before the skill is released). It won't be just a skill for the rich and/or lucky :wall:

There will be life runes. If they weren't going to put them into the skill they would not have talked about them in the first Development Diary for the skill. Who says it has to be magic to use runes? It's just a raw material used for a skill, not necessarily magic.

What they did confirm is that the life rune USED to exist, they tought of it on RSC and never gone farther with it. It's a dead concept.

An imporant note:

 

Until the Skill is released you dont know what will be used for it.

 

 

 

There may already be ample supplies for summoning out there, we just dont know it because they arnt very useful. Say Bricks were used to summon a "Brick monster" (lol). You wouldnt know to collect these ahead of time, but looking back after the skill is released you might think differently.

 

 

 

Jagex would allow ample of items needed for a skill to enter the game ahead of time, it might just be under our very noses.
