December 11, 200718 yr a good percentage of people are quitting yes they got rid of rwt and bots but in return are hurting the gameplay of millions of legit players pkers, monster hunters, merchanters, stakers are greatly damaged by the updates what's left? skillers? What's wrong with skillers? --8727th person to achieve 99 Fishing on 8/19/2008----6012th person to achieve 99 Thieving on 10/12/2008--R.I.P. October 31, 2013 99 Fletching 7/16/2015
December 11, 200718 yr i realy hope that it gets smaller, i hope about 2 mil people of wich 600k members. won't realy hurt jagex and give a nice community
December 12, 200718 yr We were talking about this in the clan channel. The people who'll be left behind would like the old schoolers 1-2 years from now. And it's quite funny...when tons of people decided to quit, Jagex added more game servers. "Im an old schooler, I used to tb. Bet you don't know what that means." "I'm an old schooler, I remember when there was no tb"
December 13, 200718 yr Not sure about that. If so many people quit, Jagex would have to fire their employees because they wouldn't be able to support them anymore and if they have debts then they might go bankrupt. Smaller communities are of course more tight knit and better in most ways but I don't see Rs reverting to pre-Rs2 days. The Runescape Wilderness - Meili's Blog
December 13, 200718 yr I don't think that many people are quitting though, and a lot of good players are quitting so the smaller community would be made up of more immature players (imo).

Just because there's less people in this case does not mean that anything will be closer between them. While the difference is negligible, even in theory, this left over group has nothing special about them. They're just the product of jagex's perfect player. Submissive to any updates they're unaffected by while they fish in catherby with their friends all day. This filter jagex applied to the general rs population didn't exactly make the left overs special or anything, is what I'm trying to say.

Just like a selectively bred lab rat isn't special, just weak and creepy. If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system. Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased. The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?
December 13, 200718 yr And also the lack of professional PK'ers will filter down to the skillers. Many goods on the high end of skills will go unused; rune arrows, bloods, potions etc. There just won't be a demand for those products any more. Er... Not as MUCH of a demand I mean. I agree. Items that are great for training will be the ones to rise in demand, but will be bought by people getting one for the first time, rather than replacing them through pking (I am yet to see a whip or godsword in Bounty hunter). Pking items of high value will not be bought into Bounty Hunter, hence will have little value in RS. UNLESS of course a non-multi area is brought into BH. I'd prefer a 50 x 50 square in the middle to be non-multi
December 13, 200718 yr I agree, maybe this update will weed out alot of the immature players. Unfortunately though, there will be some mature and respected players that leave, but all in all, this should help the community as a whole. +10 Also, I agree with everything from the initial post. -Man, I really do love Runescape, and I'm sure if it was a real person I would of asked it to marry me by now.
December 13, 200718 yr I dont mind the new updates much. I would prefer them, of course, but if it truly removes autoers and RWT forever then I am happy with it. If the price of losing RWT and Autoers means I can no longer give stuff to friends, host private drop parties or even help out newbies then I'd rather have the scum. Most people would rather not have the 'scum'. Come to my Clan chat (I'm there if I'm online) if you wish to borrow a Green H'ween mask, Blue H'ween Mask, Red H'ween Mask, or Santa for a reasonable price.
December 13, 200718 yr A small community is good, but who cares about the community when the game sucks? +1 +1 -1, i think with some tweaks the game itself will not have changed for the worse, aside from the wilderness change for pker-types
