And yes, aspects in this game are interlinked. A large volume of PKers quitting will most certainly have an impact on people who sold sharks to them etc.

You say Old pking was seen as a way to make money ? BH ADVERTISES THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE MONEY. It is totally impossible to fight unless you have the lowest skull because otherwise you are immediately piled by a group of dds speccers as soon as you enter the crater. Everyone hugs the doors because of this and so it is ridiculously restrictive. Really really awful update, has to be made single combat.

Unless Jagex makes BH non multi, or returns the old wilderness as it was, or does SOMETHING where we have an actual option to fight people 1v1 without people pileing, I will never PK again. I don't feel like massing a huge team of rogues to get a kill. I'm a soloer.

^^ agreed, I just spent around 350k buying things for the bounty hunter minigame, Needless to say I lost it all. There is no point in bringing anything decent in there because : everyone can see how much wealth you have on you by the skull, and so all the clever little ****s with their ddss come surging in like a swarm of bees to get their hands on your items, and no matter how good they are , you cannot survive 8+ people speccing you ! The doors too are a problem , people can just stand next to them so that when attacked they can immdediately leave, I did this because I was the only person I could see with the second rating of wealth ! Forget the third, fourth and fifth ! Bounty hunter HAS to be made single combat, or I shan't give my items to noobs again. =;

in the end, it is in effect, the death to honor pking, i can't pk ANYONE above 100 combat? (my pure's first 5m+ pk (full verac) was off a lvl 113 when he was 73 combat)

 

 

 

there is NO way to SOLO anymore, i went in with runecbow and 20 dragfire bolts and found out INSTANTANEOUSLY that it was a 1itemer paradise. luckily i had some barrages with me and got away from the masses of dds's

 

 

 

after i learned this fact, my pure and 5 IRL friends pure's went out on off worlds looking for noobs (hey, thats what everyone else was doing too) after 3 world hops it payed off. Low and behold what did we see? a person with a whip, obby set, d boots, med and legs (i do feel really bad he lost his fighter torso also)!! we all instantaneously flip on smite and i flip on mystic might, and barrage him, i dont think he knew what he was doing because 5 barrages of mine took him out solo ( i was with 5 meleers)

 

sense these are all IRL friends i can trust them all not to BS on me, but what happens?! OH NO!!! not the another team, yes 5 lvl 100s tanking with dragfire bolts and rune legs and black dhide chests. needless to say, i got killed WITH range protect on in 2 volleys, why may you ask? i have a counter that says i can't leave for 3 mins, WE DON'T NEED TB ANYMORE, THE GAME AUTOMATICLY DOES IT FOR YOU.

 

 

 

the most frustrating part of it is this, inside, you can't trade the loot, you know, SHARE, that way, maybe one of us would have gotten out with 1 or 2 pieces of the armor AND i can't drop it! I seriously don't want these [puncture]s getting my freshly pked drag but what can i do! i have a freaking blue skull over me that accurately translates to a homing beacon for 1itemers.

Even as a level 18 free worlder who has never pked, I will miss the thrill of visiting the wilderness (Which I did often during spare time).

 

 

 

There were many spectacular shows between the higher levels and some of the pkers (Who could not attack me) were pleasant enough to hold a conversation with me.

 

 

 

There was always a sense of paranoia and excitement whenever I entered the wilderness for I could never be sure who was quitely shadowing my every move.

 

 

 

Of course, the greatest thrill for me was in escaping and learning how to plan my clicks in advance to maximise my retreat from any hostile player (This was especially so around the runite rocks). I've encountered (Interestingly enough) a fair number of level 40's-60's wandering the level 40 areas of the wild in small groups who often put up a decent chase and got the adrenaline pumping (Fortunately, someone wearing a leather breastplate can run far longer and faster than anyone in metal).

 

 

 

I'll miss those days; it was fun knowing there was an intelligent mind behind the hostile character giving chase to me (Even if they pked for fun or just for the sake of pking).

 

 

 

Running from wraiths won't have the same effect as that.

I never used PKing as a money maker even though I made a good amount off it. I loved PKing because it was fun, risky and very unpredictable.

 

 

 

Now with this new Bounty Hunter crap which is supposed to help stop RWT, the wild is ruined IMO. They have taken the whole "stop RWT" thing way to far. I know most people don't like people who that buy RS gold or other things for real money but why?

All this because they "know" people transfer money this way. Common, you can't believe they actually have any proof of that after seeing all these ways of people getting muted/banned unfairly and how a great majority of the appeals are dealt with with automatic messages. I've seen people swear at Jagex in there appeals and get unbanned/muted...

 

It's just a game, they are taking away everything that made it unique away - one by one.

Bounty Hunter needs to be updated if it's going to overtake the old PKing.

 

 

 

I both like/dislike this update. I used to PK alot during my years in Runescape, however I also focus on raising my skills and whatnot. PKing was one of the highest systems of fun in RS, because there was a "risk factor." Now the only "risk factor" is going into BH mini-game without a clan, which really upsets me because I was looking forward to it being a fun mini-game.

 

 

 

The positive aspect of this update, is that it drove me to focus on my main account and raise my skills. Although I'll miss the excitement of the wilderness, there's still much more to do than PKing.

Originally you COULD attack people anywhere on the map, jagex has slowly killed pking over the years, but runescape was built arround it, makes it a sad shell of a game in my oppinion with no pking.
