a possible answer? set up more RSC worlds, make it open to existing players but NOT new players. This would stop autoers and real world traders after a short period of time because they cannot get new accounts onto classic and their old ones would be swiftly banned.

 

 

 

the obvious problem is (among others) that not everyone would want to play classic. The answer? they don't have to. They can continue to play "ruined-scape", or quit or whatever. this just gives people an alternative. (it would also let people like me who quit and lost the ability to play RSC get back in :thumbsup: )

 

 

 

You could be able to choose to keep your items in RS or have them transferred to RSC (much like when RS2 first came put)

 

 

 

this is by no means a perfect solution, and has a snowflake's chance in hell of being done but at least it's out there. please post comments/criticism etc

This is what I like about what is happening right now. People are actually bubbling with new ideas to change things instead of just accepting whatever Jagex throws at them. This is a chance for rebirth and new ideas that people would not have even considered before.

 

 

 

I would enjoy playing Rsc with a community again. Rsc is so unattractive to play right now because there's no community, it feels dead and stagnant. It would be pretty cool if Jagex revived Rsc, and gave it a couple of updates to attract more curious players. This would be like paradise for us all veterants.

 

 

 

Like you said, very low chances this would happen because of game engine problems and Jagex not wanting to put effort in Rsc since they've already put all their eggs in Rs2. But atleast the idea's out there.

i too would enjoy playing rsc again, i joined in early 2002 (and im still only lvl 82 #-o ) but i remember falling in love with the game. too bad i lost the ability to play after i quit for a long time or i would have gone back long ago. the game right now seems to be catering to people under lvl 20, but classic was far more independent, you had to figure it out or yourself

Haha dont worry about being lvl 82, i joined in 2002 as well , my main was banend this year in about may-ish, and he was only lvl 70 hahaha but yeah

sad thought: even if they did let us start up rsc again, itd be flooded with post-rs2 people going round saying "this game is n00b l00k at the graphorx" and that sort of stuff... but they'd either get used to it or go back to rs2 after a few weeks \

Only way that would work would be if the levels/money etc didn't carry over. Having said that people who like pking might not like the benefits RWT would give to the others and that's what Jagex is trying to stop.

that might not be that bad but there are(albeit very very few)ways to correct this on rs2

Or, they could just allow anyone who joined before Jan 1, 2007 the right to trade/give however much they want. That way, all of the real world traders will soon die out, and all of the legit players will continue on.

also, it looks like they really are trying to make these updates work. i like the quest points = money you can stake idea, and the idea of being able to loan items. (not that i think the original updates werent [cabbage], dont get me wrong)

I like this idea. But unfortunately, it will cause problems no doubt. "We hate classic" "this has crap graphics" etc etc will start. And we have to remember that it is only up still for nostalgia. It doesn't get updated, thus people will be semi-upset about the lack of new stuff being pumped into it.

These are the biggest two problems, and there aren't really any good solutions. One is to only make it available to players who were active in the Classic Era - but then players created in the RS2 Era get annoyed that they can't play it :-k

 

 

 

Another way is to handle it like they did RS2, and give people a trial month or so. This would be when all the "this has crap graphics" people would come. However they would depart RSC after the trial period (but the people from the RS2 Era who wanted to keep playing would stay)

 

 

 

And as for the lack of updates? well the only real answer is to get JAGeX to update it :roll:
