December 14, 200718 yr I've been doing black dragons for a bit. They are higher leveled dragons so I figured they have a higher drop rate. Plus they are close to a bank and have some great 100% drops. Am I right about this? Or is there something better?
December 14, 200718 yr By killing black dragons you are actually putting all your hopes on a rare visage drop, they don't drop anything else useful or worth alot. However if you kill iron dragons which are about the same def if not slightly more, you can stand a chance to get quite some bloods or some d drops along with chance of visage. So i personally feel irons are better. Don't do steels btw. Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

(About 3k if I use the bones myself). Plus they are afkable. I knew someone would mention irons, but I just don't like them. =/

Knowledgebase says "Draconic visages are rare drops from dragons (only adult black, iron, steel and mithril, and the King Black Dragon) and skeletal wyverns." So....Black are probably "bottom o the barrel" so to speak. Don't know about percentages, I know a fair few people that have got em from black dragons. whichever you choose, Best of luck!
December 14, 200718 yr I killed over 400 irons with no drop and got bored. KBD might be worth a shot now wildy is "safer". I hear you can solo it a good few times in one trip. Trust the Gene Genie!
December 14, 200718 yr Not relevent: Are Metal drags better than 'normal' drags, like black, red, blue, green?
December 14, 200718 yr you can't get visage from red/green/blue dragons 99 wc come on :) seems so far 70 construction too close :D

You might try some methods of reducing pot costs, such as replacing pure sets with zammy brew, about 2-3k cash saved per replacement Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.
December 14, 200718 yr Not relevent: Are Metal drags better than 'normal' drags, like black, red, blue, green? better? They're stronger if that's what you mean, they have better rare drops, they don't have as good 100% drops (except perhaps for mith, i don't know mith bar prices)
December 14, 200718 yr You still get enough money out of it to buy your pots, I like to do them as slay assignment: both steel and iron dragons. Rune darts, rune limbs, rune throwing knives and bloods from 1 trip are most of the time enough to cover the cost for all your pots on the trip so you will end up with profit if you just fill up the remaining inventory space with dragon bones. - Back to casual f2p scaping due to limited time (university and girlfriend ) -
December 14, 200718 yr Seriously just go with whichever your comfortable with.. I've took 2 random trips to Black Dragons (As a break from Greaters), and I came back with 2 Visages.. and the total kill count of both trips was 10! Its completely random. 2376/2376 total achieved - May 2009 Retired Dec 2009
December 14, 200718 yr Nobody ever talks about Skeletal Wyverns. Anybody gotten one from them? I was thinking about giving it a try but was just going to wait to get a slayer assignment for them.
December 14, 200718 yr Iron dragons are the best thing to kill for a visage drop. The speed at which you can kill them is generally the same as black drags only they have more valuable drops. I mean I made a total of probably 250k-ish by alching my black drag drops, and I have killed over 500, possibly in the 6-7 hundred range. Still no visage, got a nice shiny addy plate tho  At least at irons I got a D skirt, rune limbs and blood/souls to pay for any costs I may have accumulated, and if worse comes to worse the d bones are there to help with pot costs. Also, if you are maging, anti fire pots dont cost alot anyway so why not kill irons. Apparently, my signature was to big.
December 14, 200718 yr Irons are best option imo.... If you mage or range you only pay 2k per pot..... The d bones dropped would cover the costs alone of using anti-fire pots and you could just range using bone x-bow.
