Camaman
Have you ever started a long term project but gave up on it on the first few days? I know this has happened to many alike, usually because they are missing motivation or at least a reason to continue. It doesn't take much to gain motivation, its actually quite simple. A commonly used motivational tool would be to think about what the complete project would do for you. *For example I created a level 3 character named Xanza 0 as a long term motivational experiment. Im working on woodcutting at the moment 71/99, got to get it to 99 before switching skills. I tried tactics like thinking the satisfaction of a 99 skill, thinking about all the money that will flow in, making a forum wood shop, and even watching my experience rise (I love watching my experience rise in the skill menu...weird huh) but i found it to provide plenty of motivation that will get me to 99 easily. Everyone has their special motivational tactic, but you have to discover it for yourself. Having a high level skill is very rewarding and motivation will help you greatly. (O yeah, if this is in the wrong forum, please move it. I didnt know which topic to put it on.) ~2431~

I like thinking about the satisfaction of a 99 skill, thinking about all the money that will flow in, making a forum fish shop, and even watching my experience rise (I love watching my experience rise in the skill menu...weird huh) but i found it to provide plenty of motivation that will get me to 85 easily ... urza1488
I put myself steps along the way to 99 magic. eg, I am gonna craft the nats to alch all 3k of these bows. Then, I say, " I will get 94 magic, get rich, and then finish to 99" or things like that. milestones. Urza. The One. The Legend.

Y2g2003
Motivation is key in anything, but like cars... some of us tend to run out of gas a lot sooner then others. Which is why I probably don't find myself playing RS as often any more. In order to keep intrest peaked, I think most sane people need to keep balanced by playing at least two (if not more) games. Especially when you've played RS as long as I have. A friend of mine just introduced me to a game called Knights online, and thats keeping me pretty much content for right now. I even made a mill in currency already on Knights, something I'd probably never be able to do on RS as a noob in a week (let alone 2 days). Runescape has a lot of things other games don't, but in return other games have what RS lacks. Like Group training, theres no interaction amoungst players on RS so much. Yet I noticed on Knights and even Star Wars Galaxies... you can literally group with other players and make training easier, faster, and more enjoyable in some cases. I think if Jagex could work in group training... motivation would be something easier to have. Being a lone wolf on these games is hard on players. mysticsayen
I tend to take it a step at a time...if i get bored, just go off and do something else in the mean time.Better to take your food in lil bites i think

Umega
I tend to do a bit of everything, I don't stick to one skill and continuosly power train on it. I try and cut yews, but give up when I got 1 full load of yews and don't come back for another load. No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.
