Bloodredsword
Battle field is a great game, I play it all the time. However, since most of the replies your going to get are going to be leaning toward Oblivion, I'll vouch for that to. Besides the default hundreds of hours of gameplay with miniquests and just riding your horse around  , the pc version offers tons of patches, updates, and just more crap to add to the game. So potentially, you're looking at a lifetime sitting at your computer. Also, theres already one expansion out for Oblivion. I'd get that :) Listen to the mighty words of Bloodredsword. Tip it MGC Xbox live leader board!
rushrock
^ Although, I've heard that some of the quests in Oblivion are tedious and boring to the point that you want to rip your hair out. But, I've heard mainly good from Oblivion, so I would recommend that, as well as Neverwinter Nights and the Diablo series.
Lionheart_0
You could spend the rest of your childhood on oblivion if you wish. I really do suggest it. Oh, but in case you can't find anything, you can send me your computer. :D :) :( Sig by IkuraiYour Guide to Posting! Behave or I will send my Moose mounted Beaver launchers at you! Nadril
Are you just looking at games released within the past few years? I would check out Valve's service, steam. They have a sale going on right now and a lot of their games are pretty cheap. - Orange box $37 - GUN $10 -id Super pack $52 (ton of id games in it) - Valve complete pack $74 (above your budget, but has all of valve's games in it.) - Bioshock $37 - Stalker $22.50 Lot of good choices there.
indy500fan
Well I would suggest buying older games, maximum amount of fun vs. amount you spend. Rather than picking up Oblivion, pick up the GOTY edition of Morrowind. You wont spend as much, and it has just as much game play (if not more, with mods and stuff). You can download graphics packs to make it look basically as good as Oblivion, if graphics are your thing.
RebelAssassin
i would go for BF2 as a priority, but if possible get Oblivion aswell as its a quality game www.PETAkillsanimals.com

Short answer is get the bf2 demo and see how it runs, if it struggles.. you're either going to have to conceed defeat and get a better card, or put up with playing older games... sebbeberg
Unreal Tournament Classic. Freeware, still LOTS of pepole playing. Otherwise Battlefield 2. But not the original. Get some mods for it. Vanillabf sucks.
____
Otherwise Battlefield 2. But not the original. Get some mods for it. Vanillabf sucks.I'd agree with on apart from the problem of finding a good server with a low enough ping for NZ, they are almost non-existant. Not to say they don't exist, but for GOOD mods, outside of ladders... not a lot to offer if you're after populated (frequently) servers.

adam_ross0
Warcraft 3 BattleChest (includes Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos and Frozen Throne, as well as a World Editor program) - $20 USD Knight Online (download) - FREE! Flyff (download) - FREE! The Elder Scrolls 4: Morrowind Game of the Year Edition ( Includes TES Morrowind, Tribunal and Shivering Isles expansions, as well as TES Construction Set for making your own mods) - $10-15 Starcraft Battlechest (Includes Starcraft and SC: Brood Wars) - $10 So, from this, with $40 USD and a good internet connection, you could get 5 games, and a total of 5 expansion packs for 3 of them, and 2 map editor programs. Sounds like a Bargain! :P EDIT: For The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind GOTY, I said that the Shivering Isles was an expansion. I meant to say Bloodmoon..heh.
