Itsjustagame Posted January 4, 2008 Share Posted January 4, 2008 Where to start. Not many of you left know me, or so I'll assume. All of the good posters are gone. Take that as you will. I'm referring to those from the early 2000s and scapeboard. I was pretty well known there, and used to be here, usually for my style of posting. Whatever, who cares. The point is, I'm done. I've been done for a while now, and I finally realized it. I came back from a 2 week vacation not too long ago, and saw all these updates about God wars or whatever, with all new armor and weapons and monsters....and that was the last straw. Too much to catch up on, never enough time. I played this game the way I wanted to play it. I didnt spend all day getting rich with schemes and camping. I didn't throw my life away to pking or merchanting. And I certainly didn't no life to get to where I was. I played this game for a long time...since the first year actually, and my stats don't show it. The fact is, I enjoyed the idea of playing the game more than actually playing it, and at the age of 19, I realized there is no point to play something that wont benefit me at all in life. So I signed on, erased my friends list, and gave away all my belongings I've worked years to obtain to complete strangers. I picked those who were trying to play the game as I did. Getting their own supplies, and just barely getting by. Hopefully I made them happy until they decide what a waste of time this is. Think about it, you know inside this is stupid. Is it even "fun?" Sitting immoble in a chair clicking your mouse hours on end? I don't see how it can be. Did I ever have "fun?" Rarely. I spent my time yelling at the game for not doing what it was supposed to do for me, and the other times I was drunk with my friends Id known for years. I'm the only kid I know IRL who played this game, and I was embarrased by it. But not anymore. Did my life get better socially after I quit a month or two ago? Not really, no. There wasn't much to improve on. I'm a sophmore in college, I'm in a fraternity where I'm the social/party chair, so I plan all the parties with the sororities on weekends, and I do UFC style fighting for a sport. I'd say my life is the same. But now atleast when I get back from class, I can go see what everyone else is doing, have a beer with some friends and watch tv, or just go outside and enjoy what the girls around me have to offer. I no longer have any thought of signing on. This will be my last thread on tip it. I will read what some of you, if any, say, respond, and be gone. Here is a list of people I'd like to comment on, in absolutely no order. I don't know if you guys still use/have ever used these boards, but I also don't care. Sam - nothing really needs to be said. You're my boy, kid. One of my best m8s since 2004 I believe. We had our long nights and early morning goofing around, never really getting anything accomplished. Was better than anything I've done in game. Keep doing what you do, and I'll talk to you on AIM any time I'm actually there. Caz - You are probably one of the funniest, most unique people I've ever had the pleasure to talk to. I use your phrases in actual conversations, and I find them hillarious. You were my 2nd friend on Runescape, and we have remained in contact the longest out of everyone I've known. Shame our time zones are completely different. Also a shame that none of these kids here know anything about your says on scapeboard. Nick\Zaquier - Checked the mod list, and you're not there anymore. Good for you, you made the right choice. You always had my back here even when everyone else didn't, and that was cool as hell. I always enjoyed our talks about girls and **** on MSN. It's too bad I don't use it very often. If you ever catch me online, shoot me a line and I'll respond. Steve - Most reliable person I've met in game. I know you won't see this, so I won't even bother. Tony - First ever friend on Runescape. We shared our days in 2001 all the way untill 2007. Still remember when you got that rune baxe for 900k. What a day, haha. Shame you fell of the map man, you're a cool kid. Ruler - See ya on MSN..maybe. One of my best friends, and one of my first. You're a serious nerd HAH. Even though you leveled at an extremely fast rate, I will still always be better than you. I look forward to our next drunken conversation. JAGEX - wtf are you guys thinking? You ruined a great thing. I suppose it's not your fault entirely...but common...rs2? Thanks for bringing the 10 year olds into the game. If I didn't mention you, and you think I should have...that blows. You obviously didn't impress me in anyway, but I'm sure we had fun. To those I told I was hacked in game and quit...Not sorry I lied. You beg me for items when you know I'm quitting soon, you get nothing. Shame. Well that's it, I dont feel like ranting anymore. I'm constantly baffled by people being 1) ashamed 2) pissed off at Runescape, did you waste your time? Must we value our lives by what material gain we achieve? Why is it that every time someone quits and makes a thread they always end up saying how everyone else should quit too? Some people can actually play a game without it effecting their lives too much. Perhaps you thought it was necessary to quit as you didn't have time to play but you don't know anyone else's lives well enough to say that they should stop playing. Now get off your high chair and just quit. Oh hey guys I've played a LOOOONG time and I'm a veteran at this game so I can bend the rules and make my own thread for my ego, after all I deserve this.
