By the way I know that the keris only works on scarabs, I had just finished the quest and I didn't take my whip with me. Also, I've gotten 7 different notes from mummies, got 1 twice :-k , so I'm pretty sure that it doesn't matter which monster you kill. January 9, 200818 yr If I remember right, that dungeon was multicombat area. Someone could try using cannon there :) Not sure if it is worth using but it could be worth trying anyway. And I got those notes. For me best way to get them was rangeding meleers near swamp, over water. No need for protection prayers.

I get these frequently for slayer tasks, An excellent place to use a cannon is outside in the swamps, in the Northeast corner. I have tried inside the dungeon, which works fine, but you have to constantly pray and heal to sustain very long there. January 9, 200818 yr On the day the quest was released I got the 4 quest notes from dried zombies. After quest I killed them for about 1 more hour, but didn't receive a single note. Then went downstairs to kill Scarabites and got them all fairly quickly. And I did this without prayer, just stayed away from the mages. They hurt.
January 9, 200818 yr You only need 22 notes to fill the book. The best way to get them is from scarabite lancers lured into the corridors of the underground area. The reward is 10k ad more importently the information.
January 9, 200818 yr I got most of them in the dungeon, but in the swamp outside there's some scrabrites there and a nice safe spot that makes it so that only one can attack you at a time which is nice.
January 10, 200818 yr I completed the book. 20 pages from drops (I think, unless I got some during the quest or whatever) and 2 from the chests in the underground dungeon. There's 22 pages to get, total. Never trust anyone. You are always alone, and betrayal is inevitable.Nothing is safe from the jaws of the decompiler.
January 10, 200818 yr It took me a LONG time. I think I got unlucky.. The first 15 were easy but after that it took me about 5 trips down into the deeper area to get the rest. I figured a good strategy for staying down there for ages but it took a lot of time. You get 10k reward.. which didnt really cover my pots used lol. Even if you missed those in the chest you probably got more to get. After killing around 200 of the lancers without a drop I decided to try the ranges and mages etc. It doesnt actually matter -_- but I was losing faith so I thought maybe it did. Just kill whatever you find easiest but I think the lancies/rangers probably drop them quicker than the zombies or whatever was upstairs. Goodluck!
