But, oh joy, the January 2nd update has cleared out the beggars and scammers. But has it? The scammers, beggars, lurers and various riff-raff I mean; not the RWTs. Are they really gone? Some beggars may have stopped trying to weasel free stuff off players, but others probably will continue. To some of them 3K per 15 minutes is worth every second of the begging. But have you heard of the lending feature Jagex may implement? Now we may soon here the cries of "b0r0w ur rune pl0x!!!" And those cries will sound all the more reasonable because your lending the item, not giving it. And why would scammers or lurers quit? Many of them probably didn't do it for the money; that was just used to keep score. They probably did it for the thrill of outwitting others. I mean, how many higher level players fall for most scams? Lurers may no longer profit from others deaths, but they will still experience the joy of watching younger players die. They may very well continue to lure lower levels into deep wildy to have them killed by revenants or greater demons. So, in conclusion, though we may not lose as much to the scum of Runescape, maybe we still should stay on guard. A deal that sounds to good to be true may still be a trap. If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system. Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased.The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? With lurers, 5 minutes is often enough time by far to get o your gravestone and collect your items and in quite a lot of cases, there is often nice people who will bless it for you. Greater demons have a max hit of 8 (?) so the only threat would be revenants who would then turn on the lurer after you would have died so they would find it quite hard to constantly lure you, if not impossible. The main problem with dying there is getting back within 5 minutes but if you're members it can be relatively easy to get back. If you're F2P then it is a different story but the maximum you would lose is around 150k. I admit that I tried scamming a few years ago for the reason that I got bored of rs AND it was amazing money for f2p. I used to refer to it as "extreme merchanting" you would buy sets of rune or even peices of god armour for 10k (I used to do the trick of changing 1000k to 10004). I started out of boredom but continued for the money, I made a few mil in about a week which was great for someone who only casually logged on and was f2p. Oh and the thing about high levels, everyone makes mistakes but higher level players were almost as easy to scam as their lower counterparts. The only time where I did it for the "trill of outwitting others" was when I scammed a scammer. (changed rune t legs to rune normal legs in the trade window) so I ended up buying his rune legs for 10k :-w Oh and for the record, I don't and havn't scammed in a long time and will never again.
