Crazykid1321
Might get on if I survive my allergies. Oh and Cadburys_egg is getting on my case because apparently everything I like he hates with a grudge. He thinks I'm a total "fanboy" for EarthBound, but I don't go "OMFG EATHBOUND IS SO FREAKIN AWESOME IT PWNS THE UNIVERSE!!!11!@@@@". Not to mention he also hates Nintendo with an iron fist and he keeps putting me down for it. It's pretty stupid for someone to put down another person for liking something he or she hates. Only a "fanboy" would put down other people's work because it's not Naruto or something like that. I mean I didn't say anything bad about what he likes and he's going around telling me I'm a "fanboy" who types in all capitals to prove that I am a major fan for some kind of anime or video game. Now that just makes absolutely no sense to me because I didn't do anything to him. lol. You are a fanboy for Earthbound Get off your high horse. I dont "hate Nintendo with an iron fist", youre presuming so. I cant say I particularly like them, however. And Naruto can eat a [bleep]. But seriously, though, youre fun to watch. Like a wind up toy with perpetual motion. Yeah he's like one of those people who never listen to other people unless it's anime related. And btw I'm on. I dont listen to people in general. Though I probably do take heed a little more if its animu related. I have enough pride to admit it. You are a fan-girl/boy for anything Animu, get off your high horse. Do what I outlined in my previous post, stop harassing others without anything to back yourself up. Also, Mac, it's only some fangirl/boy who hates Nintendo, no Great Chicago Fire or anything. What gets me angry is that people try to put down Earthbound or its fan-base without understanding it's logic, it's brilliance, it's uniqueness or without even playing the game. All the people I know who played Earthbound love it. Also, the people who I know that have not played it, only hearing me talk about it hate it through complete ignorance. MOTHER3 is a game with nearly all literary elements, archetypes, and a powerful message. SSBB is a very deep game, for you must analyze everything while you play it. I might be a casual gamer of ssbb, but the mechanics in it require you to really be serious while having a ton of fun. Are you for real? Ive swam in paddling pools deeper than brawl. Theres one strict move list for every character; Direction+Button. No real combo system and the shield/block is a joke. Brawl isnt meant to be played seriously, its a parody of a fighting game. And having to argue with me over anime is just a total waste of energy. That was relevant to the thread it was in, now hush. Give yourself three months practice - first of all, buy the game, then master a specific character, learn their "move list" and I'll prove your hypothesis completely wrong. If that is so, then there the point for online/competitive play? Why is Smash Bros. the 2nd highest held in regard in competitive play if all the characters are limited to a single move list and nothing else? Why can one character dominate the same character if they are exactly the same and have no depth? Go play your Mugen. Pray every night and wish you were Japanese. Crazykid1321
I hate it when you and Kent fool around like that, I just came from over 6 hours of homework and 8 hours of school, and I expect a nice Brawl. =/ I know I sound uptight wanting a serious Brawl, but 'fun' matches aren't fun to me anymore. Macmaster92
Hmm I would expect that since you went through all that stress, you would want a nice relaxing game without any pressure to be the best or win. That's how I am. Oh and Gallade.. that was Kent, I think. I accepted you every time and I couldn't figure out why you wouldn't join. I think if you lighten up you'll have much more fun with this game, alex. I know that's what I did and I have a blast every time. Its so much better not worrying about who is better all the time. Crazykid1321
I like more serious games, more fun. 'Fun' games would be more fun if you would have an open communication between players, I like a competitive games because it makes me learn from my mistakes, and I like that. I like playing 'fun' games in other games. But, Brawl is not one of those games, it honestly annoys me. Well, if I wanted to relax, I would play Runescape, read a book, play MOTHER3, go out with friends, go for a walk, or just sleep.

Ginger_Warrior
SSBB is a very deep game, for you must analyze everything while you play it. I might be a casual gamer of ssbb, but the mechanics in it require you to really be serious while having a ton of fun. Are you for real? Ive swam in paddling pools deeper than brawl. Theres one strict move list for every character; Direction+Button. No real combo system and the shield/block is a joke. Brawl isnt meant to be played seriously, its a parody of a fighting game. It's a fighting game for people who don't do fighting games. Everyone knows that. Apart from possibly SC, all beat-em-ups bore me. SSBB is different, probably because it's not so tied up in being as 'realistic' as possible it actually makes the game fun to play. As for its depth - does a game as shallow as a paddling pool have a wiki with over 2,000 articles? Playing with TL forces me to be at full concentration nearly all of the time. SHDA can be mastered with practice, but the timing is so precise. Because of his tiny frame and generally poor melee attack range, any mistake can be punished badly. It's not as shallow as you make out, unless you're playing with MK. cadburys_egg
I wasnt planning on carrying on, but you all seem so wanting to hear my opinion on it, I will. And hi wannabe Japanese. (Sorry I call everybody that trying to learn Japanese.) I remember you from the other thread... Romaji still sucks, btw. I know, this board needs more JPLS support. SSB series is an extremely in depth game. Actually, the most out of all, really. The single button commands for brawl is simple. Very simple. There aren't any combo's. However, in most fighter games those combos are unstoppable - you hit the launcher and your determined the victor... how fun is that? In brawl,... well. It's just a less-competetive version of melee. The combos are only unstoppable once you get a poke in. If you dont let them, they cant do their launcher and continue their combo. Think of it like fencing, striking gives you the opportunity to win but at the same time leaves you completely open to a counter. A game of "Oh well, if he hits me it wont do much and ill get up and do it again until I do hit him." is risk-free and boring. But melee. There are combos. The single attack commands are EXTREMELY hard to pull off. Waveshine to dair infinite... good luck even attempting. The combo's aren't definite. There are many situational positions and attacks, and there is something called Directional influence which allows you to alter the trajectory in which to get sent flying. SDI, WS, Shffling, ect makes the game way more complicated then... learning Japanese even. Its all very well using such terminology that may mean something, but its pretty null and void if it goes straight over my head. I could tell you im an expert at bara cancelling into a TK and whiff cancelling into a blockstring but itd mean nothing to you. You shouldnt even be able to alter your own flight path, that should only be determined by the person attacking you, its just another safety net for casual gamers. Seriously.SSBB is a very deep game' date=' for you must analyze everything while you play it. I might be a casual gamer of ssbb, but the mechanics in it require you to really be serious while having a ton of fun.[/quote'] Don't judge a book by it's cover. Or in this case, dont' judge a game before you even know the (complex) mechanics. Ive played the game. Multiple times. Ive had a "light competition" against ~20 other friends of mine all of which have played the game and some of which own it and have completed it. I was able to beat over 3/4 of them simply by mashing buttons. It doesnt even feel complex. Most games after a while you can sort of get a feel for a combo you could pull off or a trick of some sort, yet I never feel that with SSB. Also, cadburys_egg, how isn't MOTHER3 the closest connection we have from videogames and literature? Explain to me that in a separate short essay. Im not denying MOTHER3 might be a good game, but it is far from being literature. Play any sort of VN with gameplay and youll quite easily see they are worlds apart. And ill pass on your "essay" malarkey, but if youd like to write one in favour of MOTHER3, im not going to stop you. You are a fan-girl/boy for anything Animu, get off your high horse. Correct. I have enough pride to admit so. What of it? All the people I know who played Earthbound love it. Also, the people who I know that have not played it, only hearing me talk about it hate it through complete ignorance. MOTHER3 is a game with nearly all literary elements, archetypes, and a powerful message. Ive played Earthbound, I said so before, and its not as ground breaking as you make it out to be. I dont have a wii, so ill pass. Theres an online play because this generation expects it, without it the game would be merely a former shell of what it is now. Its held highly in regard because fan boys, especially with the edition of Snake and Sonic. People will play and like anything they can be familiar with. One person can dominate another - maybe, just maybe - because he knows what hes doing? I could play you at a card game and not tell you any rules or even the goal and dominate you. Does that mean the game has depth? Go play your Mugen. Pray every night and wish you were Japanese. Mugen is a pile of [cabbage], dont mention it ever. I dont wish I was Japanese, I just want to go to Japan. Differences; learn them. And enjoy your MOTHER3 translation. OH WAIT. It's a fighting game for people who don't do fighting games. My point. If its a "fighting game for people who dont do fighting games" it cant be considered much more than a parody. Its like comparing Ridge Racer [sSB, in this case] to Gran Turismo [GGXX]. Same genre, different dimensions. Still, I think this is a new personal best for me. Simultaneously trolling like 5 people at the same time. Ginger_Warrior
How are you trolling me? I'm agreeing with you. I'm only saying that just because it is a parody doesn't make it bad. For many people, it's the parody that makes the game. Link was awful in SCII, but he's fun to play with in SSBB. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |
Crazykid1321
Thank-you, I'll enjoy the full MOTHER3 translation by Halloween. Inuashakent
Yeah, but the only person who consistantly uses Directional influence here is me... maybe it's a bit hard and not a safety net for noobs...?
