Led-Zeppelin
A kiss on each cheek is fine, but on the lips, brings problems. All of which you have already stated.

remoteman
I don't have a problem with a kiss on the cheek at all, i greet all my female friends like that, it's the norm here. Either that or a hug. On the lips i would reserve for a girlfriend though. With guys, a handshake is acceptable, sometimes a hug, depending on the person. Other people's cultures and what is socially acceptable has always been a topic that has interested me, how those two things affect a person's opinion on the world and how they act towards other people. tintin113
I'm of Pakistani and Indian heritage. We greet everyone, particularly our elders, with a kiss on the cheek. Whether they're men or women it doesn't matter. I see nothing wrong with it. when I go to a cultural gathering, the first thing the children and even teens do is go around greeting and cheek kissing every one there we know who's older than us. Growing up this way, I see nothing wrong with it and just because kissing is associated with passionate affection it no longer can be used in America or many other countries as anything less than "I want to love you passionately". hmm yeah, there's definitely a cultural aspect to it. A kiss on the cheek is a common greeting all across Europe regardless of age or sex. It's not really done at all in the UK though. Not sure whether it could just be attributed to british reservedness. It actually is done in the UK by most adults when greeting each other, just not by kids. It's almost like we grow into it I guess. I would never meet anyone but my Girlfriend with a kiss, but my mother kisses anyone she knows well with a kiss, and my dad meets any females he knows well with a kiss, but normally on on special occasions, like going out for dinner or something like that. Thanks to Quarra for the awesome sig!Xbox360 Gamertag = Tintin113

Not wanting to just means you're insecure about your sexuality. I hug plenty of male friends, just like some people would do a handshake. Heck I'll even dance with them, and I'm not gay  76th to reach 99 Construction on 6th of February 2007379th to reach 99 Runecrafting on 4th of November 2007 Finally the secrets of goal achieving are revealed!
