June 22, 200818 yr Yes, I think it will. Jagex have said that we will be able to play togheter, which means that those on the same world will be able to interact. This means that as long as you're on the same world you can meet each other, even if you're playing in different modes. Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak
June 22, 200818 yr Considering its a detail MODE/SETTING and it has features that can be turned on and off INGAME and that along the way they have remodeleled lumbridge ardougne and many animations etc. It all seems pretty obvious this graphic update will affect all three detail modes and all three will be availble on all worlds. Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue
June 22, 200818 yr It will be available on all servers, the graphics are changed depending on which java/detail you select via the java application (client side). All the server does is send and receive packets from the Java application. Thus as long as the new detail mode sends and receives the same information then all it will do is read them differently to do other things. From reading the DD's the only change i can see from the current setup is that the graphic textures are sent as you see them (procedural texturing), rather than being dl'ed when you load the app, but i'm sure that's not to hard to implement on the same servers. Thanks Gradeskip93 for my awesome sig!
June 26, 200818 yr well if you look at the new pic they have added new dance emotes and that's where I became interested in what they planned to do. But if theyre updating both versions then I guess it won't be a big problem I looked at the scroll bar on the new screen shot and in game after hearing about the women in full rune looking like shes doing to robot. There is no difference in the size so I really don't think there will be new emotes.
June 26, 200818 yr i do realize that it would be what we all want but if you think about it, with full screen trying to connect it to the "old school" version of java it seems hard. make sense? Actually it doesn't make sense. The new detail and the current Low and High detail all will run off the same servers. The server still sends the same packets of data. The only difference is how the client uses those packets of data. No matter what detail level you are on, the server still sends you the data to say where this tree(example) is, what model, and which direction. However the new graphics will grab this data and use better graphics to display it. And its not a different version of java...
June 26, 200818 yr I hope so, just so I can see the "new update against people with less rl money" thread die.
June 26, 200818 yr yea its not like there making anything new. all they are doing in texture and a bit of blending, shading and movement
June 26, 200818 yr I really do hope I'm still able to play with my friends even if they are using the lower detailed versions. That'd be really messed up to separate everyone like that and I for one would just play on the older detailed versions to be with my friends.
June 26, 200818 yr I would assume it would be just like high detail vs low detail now. You can still see people on low detail they just can't see all the graphics. Exactly. Playing in different graphics modes shouldn't effect Gameplay or who you see/meet/play with. Achieved 99 Woodcutting on 12/06/08
June 27, 200818 yr It has already been made clear by Jagex that this is an optional detail mode. All it does is taking advantage of your graphics card to allow new and better graphics. It is the same game, just with an additional flash you can activate. You have nothing to worry about. Anyone with a computer that is less than 4 years old should be able to use the new graphics mode unless you have an office laptop. In any case you can still enjoy the old detail modes if your computer cannot handle the new detail modes. Peace  P.S. Once the graphic updates are online, bear with Jagex if you encounter bugs with it. They work hard fixing things up before releasing it, but just like when quick chat was released, issues may slip by the quality assurance team or appear first after the release. Report and be patient should this happen.
