Dunno. You need a program like BitTorrent to download it. Usually you'll get it in a .rar file format, where you use a program like 7-zip to extract. If it's in .iso, I can't help you there.

I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal.

Torrent files are pretty much just links to trackers. The trackers give your computer a list of IP addresses of people seeding (uploading) and downloading the files the torrent is for. The torrent file doesn't contain any data other than information telling it where to find that data.

You need to use a bittorrent service to download the file.

Imageshack (you have to register an account to use it) offers a very nice torrent service, where it torrents on their server, and you can download the file directly, if you don't want to use a program.

utorrent and Azureas Vuze are two very nice programs for downloading torrents, if you're looking to download more than imageshack allows.

That being said, tipit frowns upon torrenting, and especially since you specified you were downloading a song, this is going to get locked. :(

OCremix isn't illegal file sharing though.

Doesn't matter. There are plenty of legal torrent services, and torrenting is used a lot for legal filesharing, but all of the other threads involving it have been locked.

I'm not judging you or anything, I'm a horrible P2P pirate as it is.

They can QQ more.

I use Bittorrent. Works very well for me.

Imageshack keeps asking me to log in or register even though I just made my account.... Grr.

Email verification, and the login username is case sensitive. I tried for like 6 hours and forgot to capitalize an I. >.>

*They used to automatically capitalize the first letter in the username at one point which is what my problem was, I don't know if they still auto-caps the first letter.

They're always locked because the content the people posting are trying to download is blatantly pirated or not freely distributed. I've messaged the moderators a few times for incorrectly locking torrent related topics and if you properly explain why it shouldn't have been locked it will get get fixed.

You need to open .torrent files with a program such as uTorrent, which will then allow you to download the content you are after.

.torrent files contain instructions that uTorrent will follow in order to download content.

Torrents are illegal and discussion is against Tip.It rules.

Downloading copyrighted material is illegal, and you have said you are downloading a song.

Tip.It does not condone the use of torrents.

Should your torrent be uncopyrighted and legal, please pm me to unlock this.

Locked,

Pryomancer.

I have reviewed the site and it contains no illegal torrents that I could find.

Please remember however that copyrighted material is illegal to download via torrent.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused,

Trouble with Torrents is that they are used primarily for illegal purposes.

Usually to get a torrent you have to go via a "dodgy" website. As well as being filled with porn advertisments they tend to try and install all manner of junk onto your PC.

Then you need a torrent program in order to download them, and guess what? A lot of them are riddled with viruses and adware. Even then, when you do get the file, chances are it's a virus or something else.

So basically the legal side of torrents is overshadowed by the bigger illegal side of it. Although it's slower I recommend using p2p software for sharing files as usually you interface with one program and then it's just a case of making sure the files you download are not viruses (and legal of course). Most legal sites will distribute via torrent and p2p.

Thats odd, I never have such problems with torrents I've never seen a virus in an illegal torrent ever (and I download ALLOT both legal and otherwise).

In fact if any version is going to contain malware it's the legal version. (Google "Sony rootkit")

It may depend on the torrent site you use, I prefer ThePirateBay as my first choice they have good trackers in place.

Agree'd, now I use uTorrent and everything I download I scan with virustotal.com which uses around 20+ virus programs all the top like nod32 and kaspersky and I barely find anything wrong with what I download, you just need to look at the torrents infomation and comments (ThePirateBay ftw!) before downloading. Maybe you want to risk getting a lawsuit and decide to download an abode CS3 products and a keygen, now most CS3 programs are around 50MB in size but you look and see one called "photoshop.key.gen.hack.serial.cs3.abode" that has 0 seeders and 0 leechers and is a 513Kb sized file that you decide to download click on and find thing to happen when you computer is filling up with crap you don't know about and cant find.
