Why does everyone hate F2P?

I've been f2p, then member, then f2p again, member again and so on. Switched many times. Maybe the maturity isn't very different, but members seem to better understand what's going on in runescape. I am a player moderator, and I have no problems with that in p2p, however I'm kinda afraid to speak while in f2p, because no matter what I say I'll get bombarded with "what that crown means??????", "c4n u mak me rich", "do u get phree stuff from jegex" and other stuff like that... :wall:

 

 

 

lolz the maturity level isnt all that different its just because member worlds are that much bigger. Thus all the morons and trash-talkers arent all at the same place. Places you will find trash-talkers in p2p. BH (Bounty hunter. Im only gonna Explain this abbreviation once so remember it) Duel arena, Clan Wars. Starting to see a pattern? Trash-talking almost seems to have a direct relationship to pk'ing in this game. HOWEVER its like that with any game where your skills are pitted against another. Halo, Call of duty, quake, WoW, starcraft so on and so forth. So aside from the fact that he conveyed his statement poorly so answer your question.

 

 

 

There are a multitude of reason why (a) person/people hate f2p'ers. The one of the more popular reasons is the fact that there are more arseholes per square inch then in p2p. I dont care much if someone sits there and calls me a noob or any other insult they can muster via google. Simply ignore them. Is it a shame the p2p'ers hate/dislike f2p'ers as a whole? yes but simply because half of them dont have a reason to hate/dislike f2p'ers.

ROFL, this reminds me of a speech in Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar". Apparently, the f2p bashers are belittling the rungs of the ladder of life that they have climbed. They bow before the rungs they haven't climbed yet scorn those which are below. I'm not saying f2p is any better or worse (in quality. I like p2p just cause lot's more updates, but the f2p is same quality of content), it's just that people sometimes look back on their past and say "I'm sooooooo much better now than I was that time." Therefore, they will look down on anyone who is at that same level that they themselves were. It's a pretty arrogant and pathetic outlook if you ask me. As for me, I actually think f2p is better as for a video game because it's more challenging with less ways to train skills, less conveniences like shortcuts and more expensive street prices for items.

i am f2p and my member friend doesnt like the fact that ppl always ask for more updates. i do want a few updates but i am always grateful of wat we have already. it is better than other mmorps. the 2week trial and something like that.

We actually do make Jagex richer. We get those pesky ads dont we? Of course it is not as much as 5 bucks a month, but it is something.

 

 

 

The average cost per impression of an ad is $10 per 1000. That means 1 cents per ad that comes up. I am not making this up. I have sources; pm me.

 

 

 

I personally play 1-2 hours a day during school time and 3-4 hours during summer holidays (I have nothing to do cuz i cant find a job). We will put the avg around 2 hrs a day.

 

 

 

Lets say each ad lasts 10 min. That is 12 ads over the course of 2 hours. 12 times 1 cents = 12 cents per day that jagex makes.

 

 

 

I dont play everyday, so lets put 20 days per month. 20 times 12 cents = $2.4 dollars that jagex makes off of me in terms of ads.

 

 

 

RS is an MMORPG and it is desirable for advertising, especially to kids and teens, so $10CPM (cost per 1000 impressions) is good. But lets just be super conservative and say $5CPM. That is still $1.20 off of me.

 

 

 

Therefore I would say that we need 1/5 of members content. But are we getting that?

As for anim7, f2p barely gets content because then they are more enticed to being members. That's basically it. And as 8/04 this year, yoou'd only be justified in getting 1/6 of the content #-o
