IeatWindex
Chocobodude, I have read them. How can I have an opinion If I have not? I disliked some of them, finding they were overrated. I did read one with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan. They got stuck on some planet. But that was in 4th grade, I can't remember the details. Seriously, do you think every Star Wars book you ever read was great? Don't you think one was bad, plain, etc.
Swordhand20
My favorite episode: Star Wars: Return of the Jedi Favorite Scene: Obi Wan vs Anakin... end of ROTS. YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE Favorite Jedi: Obi-Wan Kenobi; I liked Yoda up until the new films when they made him into some messed up cross between Jacki Chan and a monkey. Favorite Sith lord: I actually liked Count Dooku... maybe just because Christopher Lee just pwns. Liked all of them apart from Darth Maul. The first 2 films of the prequel trilogy sucked. But I was impressed at how George Lucas managed to make Revenge of the Sith so good. But then maybe that episode was always going to be good, to see anakin finally become Darth Vader. Chocobodude0
And when Maul died, that wasn't the last the galaxy so of him... Yeah, he got revived by putting his legs back on or something... like that's never been done before... Now they're going to try to revive greivous if they haven't already. Also wouldn't be suprised if Ben Kenobi was really alive, like he made a force twin or something.... This is how it is according to me. Jedi went to Naboo, found kid, Qui gon died, anakin's obi wans master, they do whatever happened in The Attack of the Clones, the clone wars, what happened in Revenge of the Sith, Luke skywalker is born, fights the empire, slays the emperor and sees his father's face and they secure the galaxy. The end. *Runs to the fanboy-proof bunker* Alright, cool. You're basically saying "All this stuff isn't canon because I don't want it to be!" which doesn't change the saga, or the fact that all that stuff I wrote was canon...:| And for the record, not ell EU stuff is good. There's some terrible stuff, too. Nobody really cares about Ewok Adventures...

Lenin64
Grevious is a Kaleesh. During the clone wars, his species is at war with a rival species, the Huk. The Huk recieved Republic support because their world was rich with ore. Grevious later was involved in a mysterious starship crash that almost killed him. While dying, he swore veangence on the Jedi and republic for siding with the Huk. The confederacy then repaired him, and in exchange he became general of their droid army, and Dooku gave him lightsaber training. Right, Kaleesh, I think the masks they wore were the skulls of an animal starting with M. And didn't Dooku actually arrange his mysterious crash? Command the Murderous Chalices! Drink ye harpooners! drink and swear, ye men that man the deathful whaleboat's bow- Death to Moby Dick!BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE! Nom
The Yuuzhan Vong invasion is probably the most epic story arc known to science fiction. I loved the whole NJO series, and own nearly all of them. That seems to have been a pinnacle, though. The Dark Nest books were decent, but the new Legacy of the Force with Jacen going all Darth Vader redux seems to be a bit lacking. And MARA DIED. Dammit. I wonder how long before someone decides that Luke Skywalker is an old man. He's still kicking [wagon], which is cool, but these books are taking place 40 years after A New Hope. He's sixty years old. Eventually he's going to have to end up like Yoda; wise old counselor and last resort superweapon. Which he sort of already is, I guess. Of the movies, it's between III and V as a favorite for me.

I haven't been keeping up on them, I read 1-3 and 5, skipped four since I couldn't find it at the time. I have 4, 6 and 7 sitting on my shelf waiting to be read. So are the last two books out? Giordano
So what's the "first" EU piece after the movies end? I haven't actually read any, want to know where I should start. They span all over the place, from 10,000 years before the Battle of Yavin to 5000 into the future. Just pick something intresting to you and start there. Favorite movie: The Empire Strikes Back FTW Favorite Scene: The Battle of Yavin (Death Star battle in Episode IV) Favorite Jedi: Luke Skywalker...closely followed by Obi Wan Favorite Sith Lord: Darth Vader Favorite EU piece: I haven't read much EU, but I do like the New Empire after Episode VI. IeatWindex
Can anyone recommend me where to start? Ive never ventured out the movies, so someone please recommend where I should start off.
Nom
For those wanting to start EU books, you can look in the front pages of the newest ones (New Jedi Order and Legacy of the Force) to find a timeline of all the current novels. The best place to start, I would think, would be with the Thrawn Trilogy, detailing Grand Admiral Thrawn's attempts to subjugate the galaxy with the Imperial Remnant. That's ~8 years ABY (After the Battle of Yavin) or 4 years after events in RotJ.
Chocobodude0
You wanna laern about EU stuff? For free summaries, pictures, and such, try the Star Wars Wiki: http://wookieepedia.com It is very interesting, you can learn just about everything Star Wars related, it's crazy. And to actually start on the EU, I'd reccommend my favorite form, the video games. The two KOTOR games are amazing, Republic Commando details some gritty battles of the clone wars, the Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy games take place 40 years after the events of ROTJ, the upcoming game, The Force Unleashed, takes place inbetween Episodes III and IV (Not all EU takes place outside the movie saga, a lot of it is during or inbetween the movies). For non-gamers, there's also another upcoming (animated) Star Wars feature-presentation movie, The Clone Wars, which will chronicle one of it's many campaigns and make way for the upcoming cartoon series on CN (and if it is anything like the first Clone Wars microseries, it will be fantastic), and a lotta other stuff. So it's over then? The Legacy of the Force series? I haven't been keeping up on them, I read 1-3 and 5, skipped four since I couldn't find it at the time. I have 4, 6 and 7 sitting on my shelf waiting to be read. So are the last two books out? Yep, it finished up about a month ago. You can check Wookieepedia for the summary. Agunimon979
Alright, cool. You're basically saying "All this stuff isn't canon because I don't want it to be!" which doesn't change the saga, or the fact that all that stuff I wrote was canon...:| No, I don't think George Lucas intended on bringing back the Empire, you know, destroying the Galaxy and then using the force to bring it back, or all of the enemies from the original trilogy coming back to life or something like that. I do consider video games canonical though because they're were made by LucasArts and they have a certain series to follow, whereas any hick author can add some ridiculous new thing like force invisibility, or go back and time and bring the Empire to the future. And alot of the EU is very confusing, like Tyosha Xi or some ridiculous name like that went to the planet Xxarkson to rescue the zuzi animals from the emperor's control over the Ghtizon league? I mean wtf?

The original is Star Wars: An Empire Divided. Im gonna play and see how it goes.
