Speech key? INNOVATION!

The speech key helps but I didn't particularly like it. Since your comic is very text based you might consider a number of different ways of identifying the speaker.

 

 

 

Another thing you should try out is using some of the same characters in multiple strips, so people can get used to each of their personalities, which requires the reader to guess less such as your 9th one, if you were to use those characters a in a few other comics people would start to get a feel for them and you wouldnt have to explain their personalities in the text. That should help keep the focus on the jokes and make things easier for you and your reader.

 

 

 

But that being said random characters are good especially if youre going to take somebody like Zelda or Kirby who already have personalities that your target audience knows.

 

 

 

I hope that helps or atleast makes sense.

The speech key did help, as I was guessing who was saying what on the previous comics.

Having some crazy guy say, "Muahahaha!" and being random isn't that funny.

 

 

 

If you want to be funny, how about trying to use irony for starters? Watch the Simpsons more - they have a pretty clear idea. After that, you can move onto pointing out stereotypes with extremities.

I've only been reading the (much funnier) parodies on SA. :thumbup:

After reading some of the replies i've decided to stick to a set bunch of characters to follow as a series, to have a little narrator role every now and again, to remove the Speech Key and to let you get used to the personalities and coloured text of the regular characters.

Haha, quite a good joke old chap, but you forget that because of an ant's insectoid nature, it has no true nervous system and thus no real brain, only a nerve bundle, making it even worse at maths.

I am going to say this again, the speach key HELPS! I have no idea who is saying what in episode one, so I didn't read past the first few squares. You need it since you don't give a clear indication of who is speaking.

 

 

 

And lol to megakiller. You should make a topic for there awesome comics.
