There's no denying that looks will play a fairly large part in the initial attraction, but I really doubt that and money are all people are looking for in online dating.

Also, if you think that you'd be unsuccessful w/ online dating (or anything else) because you're poor or unattractive, then don't complain about it and make excuses. Instead, make yourself look attractive and start earning money!

My advice on online dating: don't. I do it out of sheer cognitive dissonance.

I'm going through Muggiw's guide now. So far I can see I'm "level 4" ish. Touching new people has always been a bit awkward for sober me. I also like the human way of meeting girls. It's slower, it's less efficient, but it feels more natural.

 

@Muggiw have you considered the variable of timing in your spreadsheet? Clearly practice has been making perfect, but I hypothesize that girls are more likely to be responsive in the months of October, November, January and February.

Precisely my point, though you're neglecting the fact that valentines day is mid February. I've also taken note that most break-ups happen in mid to late September; October if one member of the couple is clingy.

IIRC, statistically speaking the most breakups occur around New Years and Valentines.

 

Valentines day is just a single day that women forget about once it's over. Maybe there'll be increased odds of dating in the week prior, but nothing significant.

For Christmas, I would expect to see the number of breakups go down for November and December, and go way up come January from people who are holding off ending it until after the holiday season clears, for reasons ranging from not ruining other peoples holidays to not explaining that you just broke up to every single person in your extended family.

See that's what I thought at first too, but it was the opposite that I've observed over the past 6-7 years I've been paying attention.

I remember hearing that 8th January was the day women were most likely to register to online dating websites or some date around that period. That's a NY resolution factor, of course, but my point is that these events do hold significance for a lot of women (and men).

As I figured it would. Being yourself works wonders for your anxiety.I'll be dateless yet again for valentines day, but I legitimately don't care. I was concerned last year about what I was going to do (I don't even remember what I ended up doing) and the year before that I went to a "singles-awareness" party. This year, I might go see the new Die Hard. Or smoke/drink with a few single friends. Not really committed to anything. Not really caring.

Nothing for Valentine's Day this year. But have you heard of international Womens' Day on 8th of March? It has been an on-off day here, but last years I have orgamized something amongst our class for all the girls. Needless to say, we got them awestruck with joy and surprise. Didn't help me personally otherwise than a few hugs and kisses on cheek, but seeing th joy in the eyes of every single girl in my class has been worth those small sacrifices. And we really didn't do anything large, just red roses in 10th grade and a movie about them with red flowers and chocolate for every girl in 11th. And this year we are gonna do a topless photo, us guys in the class and give one large copy to every girl with a paper rose.

I've never heard of women's day until now. Definitely not even really a thing around where I live, though after wikipedia'ing it, it's clearly a big deal. Do you enjoy celebrating it?
