July 21, 200817 yr What is this %$@! about runescape promoting things? Examples: Three gods in runescape promotes paganism. Thieving skill promotes stealing. The whole game apparently promotes murder. Promotes a caste system. don't forget...the drunk dwarf promotes binge drinking :D Honestly..... do you think children go into their room and start worshipping Zamorak on a guilded altar? Do they go out and start killing cows so they can make clothes out of the skin? Runescape is a game. Nothing more. It doesn't promote jack squat. I'm tired of all the people out there that feel they will start chopping down trees in real life if they do it enough in a game.

Pinning blame on Jagex is like trying to put pants on an old man. You both know he needs them, but he'll just keep dancing around, avoiding them at all costs.
July 21, 200817 yr Sounds like another pair of scared parents who think that a game will mess up their child's mind horribly, making them kill people, burn houses etc. After a person understands that they are playing a game and it has no connections to real world, there is an extremely low chance that they will start copying the game. July 21, 200817 yr Well, Polytheism =/= Paganism, so that's out, I think I could say Fable promotes murder, human sacrifice, polygamy, and theft as well, because you can choose to do those, Pokemon promotes raising animals to fight each other, the list goes on. They're just games, and I agree with the OP that people are taking it a bit too seriously. I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr
