Yomyth105
unfortunatley for us f2pers jagex does hardly anything to stop the ads from coming. they want to advertise bottom line! I hate those ads and i just learn to ignore them
fenrir321
why block adverts? They don't carry an malicious software or Jagex would not let them advertise. It's against the rules to block the adverts anyways, so they're probably making it MORE of a hassle than just letting them be.

Wallettheif
Someone's been a naughty little boy. Rule 15 - Advert Blocking You must not deliberately block or hide the adverts which appear above the free version of our game. If you have advert blocking software please prevent it from blocking adverts on our website. The adverts above the free game are what enable us to keep it free, after all! Do you like popsicles? I have a ton of them in my garage. The game.
drek9
How about you just pay 7 bucks a month for membership. Guess what? You can then say bye bye to those pesky Ads. Red Blade Hunters: 80+ | 70+ FA | 3+ Years

harper128
Hmm, I used to have problems with the ads when they would change. I learned to right click and put them onto the low, instead of the high, resolution. Blocking the ads, however, is not helping Jagex at all, in fact, it lowers the amount of revenue they receive from their advertisers (depending upon how the ads are blocked). I actually leave their page loaded when I have the computer on but am away from it so that the ads cycle. As to them ruining the immersion of the game, set your monitor to 800x600 and you can scroll the ads almost off the top of your screen on a 19 inch monitor. Finally, the attitude shown here about the ads and Jagex doing "nothing" about removing them is just one of the reasons that P2P think so little of many F2P. Oh, to drek9, from what I have heard reported, even if you are P2P, if you go onto a F2P server, you get the ads. That, in my opinion, is something that Jagex should strive to solve. Also, blocking the ads may be against the rules, but everyone does it. You're being watched.

harper128
Everyone speeds, that's still against the law as well. Break the rules and get caught, pay the price. You think telling an officer that "everyone does it" will honestly get you out of a ticket? Besides, blocking the ads takes revenue away from Jagex. Something that P2P are constantly railing against F2P about anyway. I guess that mean that if you're on a F2P server, maybe for BH or FOG, you ought to suck it up and just deal with the ads? Otherwise you're just another one of those whiny, no-good, wah-wah-wah I want everything, Jagex owes me because I play their game F2Pers.

Mike_Ike111
They don't do anything to you if you block the ads anyways... And if they message you, just tell them the ads were messing with your browser, and would not allow you to run Java (or some crap like that).
