August 8, 200817 yr Limpwurt roots have risen by over 16% in the last thirty days (as of August 8th 2:15pm) What was 678gp on the 18th of June has now reached a price of 844gp. I think this might be a good time to buy limps in bulk to resell later for a profit. Castle of Zoltar

August 8, 200817 yr Author Limps are rising quite quickly right now. Yes, they might crash but before they do they WILL show a decrease in the steepness of the price slope. When it does, that's the time to sell. Castle of Zoltar

August 8, 200817 yr That's rising enormously? Sounds to me as though you've invested in a ton of em and just want more people to raise the price by making a thread like this. Nice try. :shame:
August 8, 200817 yr No. The good time to buy them would have been 18th June. However, that depends on you having a time machine

August 8, 200817 yr Limpwurts are pretty stable, don't expect anything there. 678gp each was almost 2 months ago, it's too slow to be worth it. Not necessarily ... I've seen enough prices crash without a "decrease in the steepness of the price slope" Uhm, no. No matter how suddenly it may happen, the graph will show it. Only someone oblivious to graphs would think that it happens out of nowhere. Furthermore, you can sell a limp at min/max throughout the process in order to deduce what tomorrow's price will be. It isn't a problem at all. 2480+ total
August 8, 200817 yr hmm doesnt look like a bubble.. a steady rise and a recent drop...shows that ppl arent flocking to buy it. Might be a good idea to invest here. There may be a very very small change, but you can barely see it with the human eye. Only someone oblivious would think that he could predict a price drop here. If you need more examples, I'll be happy to give you some, there are enough items on the grand exchange database to prove that I'm right and that you can't always clearly see if an item will continue to rise or will drop. I'm talking about the daily average ofcourse, since it's kinda hard to look into the future to see the big picture and the 30day graph for half a month later. August 8, 200817 yr You don't buy when prices are going up. No kidding you don't have to check with tif before making an "investment" move. And in your case you might need to check with someone, wtf buying limps when they are high? Thats when you sell. :wall: Wc'ing my way to 99 (Wish me luck)

I'm talking about the daily average ofcourse, since it's kinda hard to look into the future to see the big picture and the 30day graph for half a month later. If you see the curve is starting to go slightly down, and that you know this is as high as they will go, you sell before it crashes. It's that simple. Items do this all the time, they raise very quickly, like top hats recently after the hair bug was fixed, and then they crash just as quickly, like top hats when people realized they weren't all great even with the hair. Only someone utterly idiotic would wait until the item has crashed to sell. Bad things happen only when you don't check your investment everytime the GE is updated, or if you don't have a brain to know how to properly invest. And as I said, if the graphs fails, you can deduce tomorrow's price by selling/buying an item at max and seeing how much money you get back. If even at a max offer, you get the limps very slowly, tomorrow the price will raise. If you can buy easily for mininum, it will fall tomorrow. Graph or not, it's easy to deduce. I suggest you shut up, you obviously know nothing about investing. Obnoxious idiots like you should sit down tight and listen to people who know what they're talking about. 2480+ total

Yea, i invested in a sara sword like last week and it was raising 300k-400k a day and then i checked it one day and boom down 250k.
August 9, 200817 yr Author Oropher, things just don't crash with absolutely no warning. There should be a slight decline in the slope before it crashes. Even in your graph there is a slight fall of around 400~500k the day before the crash. Thats equivalent to about 5gp in limps. Oh and by the way, it dropped 7 gp today. This could be an indication of a steep drop to come, or it could recover as it has done the last two times in 30 days. Castle of Zoltar

I know that things don't crash with no warning, but you can't exactly trust the GE on warning you. Most crashes start before the GE actually shows anything, and then after that it goes steeply down. The GE just updates too slow, which is why you dont see a small decline before it crashes. I just wanted to make clear that the GE is flawed and has a delay in the price updates, so you will never see a really accurate graph of what is really going on, which is dangerous for people who never merchanted before and then suddenly decide to do so. That is a really good point. The GE updates are too slow. By the time the crashes are seen through the DB, it could've been underway for hours. But even with the slow warning, there should be enough time to sell before losing more than a small portion of your money if you check every day. But then the RS economy can be easily manipulated... If the crash was really bad, as you would expect if the prices were being manipulated, you might be able lose a hefty portion of your money in a few hours but I'm not sure on this. Anyhow, although the GE does update too slow, as long as the prices aren't being manipulated you can always get a good idea of the next days prices by selling at max/min on GE. Castle of Zoltar
August 14, 200817 yr Obviously this is price manipulating, you don't buy when prices are high. Retired from Runescape September 1, 2008
