scruffyo99
I decided to make a guide on the new runecrafting tablets. I was doing a lot of calculating and figured that I may as well make a guide for myself and anybody else wondering about the profits and exp per hour. Requirements: 1. 50 runecrafting (runecrafting guild requirement) 2. 37 magic is highly recommended! Prices for the tablets from the RC Guild All numbers are numbers of tokens needed to buy each tablet Air: 30 Mind: 32 Water: 34 Earth: 36 Fire: 37 Body: 38 Method for runecrafting with tablets and teleports Note: This method requires 37 magic. Falador teleports are critical for maximizing exp/hour. If you don't want to use teleports or you can't, just do the walking while using tablets to cut the trip in half. The Falador West Bank is the closest bank to the Falador Teleport. It's the closest bank to any place you land from doing a teleport. Start off in the Falador West Bank. I suggest that you have a water staff wielded since you make air runes and you'd be saving one inventory space. You should also have whatever tiara for the altar you're going to be using for making runes (or tiaras) on your head. Try to have a small weight. Your inventory should have any amount of air and law runes, enough to do at least one Falador Teleport. You should also have however many tablets you have for the altar you'll be visiting. You will have space for 25 rune essences to fill up the rest of your inventory. After withdrawing your 25 essences, click on your tablet to land near the altar. Go inside and make your runes or tiaras. Use a Falador Teleport to land back in Falador. Go to the bank. Repeat this method as many times as you can. Hourly experience and profits All of these amounts of experience are with the method used above. I will always give the experience gained in an hour before the profits. Formula for hourly experience: Runs or trips per hour ® times essence carried per trip (25) times experience gained per essence. R*25*E. Formula for gp per hour (kind of long and confusing) Formula for hourly profits: Essence per trip * cost of essence * runs per hour + (cost of Falador Teleports * runs per hour). That gives you the cost of each trip. Now multiply the amount of essence per trip by the amount of runes per essence. Multiply that by the runs per hour and multiply that by the market value of the rune. Subtract the cost of each trip from the amounts from the money gained from selling the runes. E*C*R + (T*R) = Cost per trip E*X*R*M = money from making runes E*X*R*M - (E*C*R + [T*R]) = profits per hour Constants throughout: 25 ess per trip, 50 gp per ess. Falador Teleports = 360 gp ea.. 32 seconds per trip (supposedly), meaning 112 trips/hr Air runes Time per trip: 32 seconds Trips per hour: 112 Estimated exp per hour: 14,000 Tokens per hour to get tablets: 3,360 Profits All trips cost 180,320 gp. 140K for the essences needed per hour (2,800) and 40,320 gp for 112 teleports. Based on profit of airs at 16 gp each 50-54 rc (must have 50 rc for the tablets) - 5 airs per essence 43,680 gp per hour Gp/xp yield: 3.12 gp per exp gained per hour 55-65 rc - 6 airs per essence 88,480 gp per hour Gp/xp yield: 6.32 gp per exp gained per hour 66-76 rc - 7 airs per essence 133,280 gp per hour Gp/xp yield: 9.52 gp per exp gained per hour 77-87 rc - 8 airs per essence 176,960 gp per hour Gp/xp yield: 12.72 gp per exp gained per hour 88-98 rc - 9 airs per essence 220,640 gp per hour Gp/xp yield: 15.92 gp per exp gained per hour 99 rc - 10 airs per essence 264,320 gp per hour Gp/xp yield: 19.12 gp per exp gained per hour Mind runes Time per trip: 32 seconds Trips per hour: 112 Estimated exp per hour: 15,400 Tokens per hour to get tablets: 3,584 Profits: Based on the price of mind runes at 9 gp 50-55 rc - 4 runes per essence -79520 gp per hour Gp/xp yield: -5.1636 gp per exp gained per hour 56-69 rc - 5 runes per essence -54320 gp per hour Gp/xp yield: -3.527 gp per exp gained per hour 70-83 rc - 6 runes per essence -29,120 gp per hour Gp/xp yield: -1.890 gp per exp gained per hour 84-97 rc - 7 runes per essence -3920 gp per hour Gp/xp yield: -0.2545 gp per exp gained per hour 98 rc and beyond - 8 runes per essence 21,280 gp per hour Gp/xp yield: 1.381 gp per exp gained per hour Water runes Time per trip: 32 seconds Trips per hour: 112 Estimated exp per hour: 16,800 Tokens per hour to get tablets: 3,808 Profits: Based on price of water runes being 16 gp each 50-56 rc - 3 runes per essence -45920 gp per hour Gp/xp yield: -2.73 gp per exp gained per hour 57-75 rc - 4 runes per essence -1120 gp per hour Gp/xp yield: -0.066 gp per exp gained per hour 76-94 rc - 5 runes per essence 43,680 gp per hour Gp/xp yield: 2.6 gp per exp gained per hour 95 rc and beyond - 6 runes per essence 88,480 gp per hour Gp/xp yield: 5.267 gp per exp gained per hour Earth runes Time per trip: 32 seconds Trips per hour: 112 Estimated exp per hour: 18,200 Tokens per hour to get tablets: 4,032 Profits: Based on price of earth runes being 16 gp each 50-51 rc - 2 runes per essence -90,720 gp per hour Gp/xp yield: -4.984 gp per exp gained per hour 52-77 rc - 3 runes per essence -45,920 gp per hour Gp/xp yield: -2.523 gp per exp gained per hour 78 rc and beyond - 4 runes per essence -1,120 gp per hour Gp/xp yield: -0.061 gp per exp gained per hour Fire runes Time per trip: 32 Trips per hour: 112 Estimated exp per hour: 19,600 Tokens per hour to get tablets: 4,256 Profits: 50-69 rc - 2 runes per essence -129,920 gp per hour Gp/xp yield: -6.628 gp per exp gained per hour 70 rc and beyond - 3 runes per essence -104,720 gp per hour Gp/xp yield: -5.342 gp per exp gained per hour Body runes Time per trip: 32 seconds Trips per hour: 112 Estimated exp per hour: 21,000 Tokens per hour to get tablets: 4,480 Profits: Based on price of body runes being 10 gp each 50-91 rc - 2 runes per essence -124,320 gp per hour Gp/xp yield: -5.92 gp per exp gained per hour 92 rc and beyond - 3 runes per essence -96,320 gp per hour Gp/xp yield: -4.586 gp per exp gained per hour Fastest way to runecraft without losing much money per hour (not with tiaras) from level 50 to 99 Level 50 to 56: Air runes. Level 50-54 runecrafters get 14K exp per hour and 43,680 gp per hour. Level 55 and 56 gets 88,480 gp per hour. Level 57 to 77: Water runes. Level 57-75 runecrafters get 16.8K exp per hour and lose 1,120 gp per hour. Level 76 and 77 get 43,680 gp per hour. Level 78 to 99: Earth runes. It costs 1,120 gp per hour to do it and you get 18.2K exp per hour. The most profitable way to runecraft from level 50 to 99 is with air runes. Refer back to the air rune section to get the numbers of how much you can make per hour with tablets. Hope you enjoyed my guide! Zaaps1
What about Earth Runecrafting gloves from Fog? Before, the max a f2p'er could craft per hour was about 1k, if your numbers are correct it is now 2.8k. It seems the gloves might be worth it now. You should also included figures on token/hour and add that to your calculations. Nice guide overall. ~It's Super Effective! scruffyo99
Very nice guide..would you happen to know if the new robes help at all with profit or exp ? Robes help a little with profit, but are hardly worth it. They only work inside the game, so outside of it they're just good for being magic robes or a skilling outfit. You should also included figures on token/hour and add that to your calculations. Nice guide overall. I didn't include those because of the varied amounts of tokens you can get in an hour based on your team and all that. There are probably other guides with that sort of information, though. Cinos
Would using the adventure ring tele work as the cabbage patch is relativly close to the draynor bank maybe a few seconds slower than the fally tele?
Jimmyw3000
Would using the adventure ring tele work as the cabbage patch is relativly close to the draynor bank maybe a few seconds slower than the fally tele? It would, but it's be slightly slower and more fustrating, as the gate is sometimes locked, and it takes about 10seconds more walking to the draynor bank than to the fally banks. those 10seconds add up in the long run. And sorry scruff, my bad

soulegleon
Very good guide, it could use some example videos (use unregistered hyper cam) and maybe some pictures. If I where a nonmember I would follow this guide :D! Also, maybe add a comparison, like how much you would get by runecrafting with other methods. Such as the explorers ring method, or the classic running back and forth. Also, if you really feel like getting into it, add some tips and tricks on how to do the Great Orb Project effectively. anim7
FOG gloves are very inefficient if you use teletabs. Unless...you already have fog tokens. By all means, use them if you have them already. Getting 75 tokens should take 50min-1hour at most. But you have to get lots of tokens first. Let me do this calculation discounting the time it takes to get rc tablets. Without fog gloves, 14k xp per hour. That is 2.8k ess crafted. With fog gloves, you spend an hour crafting and an hour for one gloves. That is an extra 5k xp over a total time of 2 hours. If you didnt catch that...lets try this. You get 3 gloves and it takes you about 3 hours to get them. Plus one hour to craft 2.8k ess. You get double the xp, but only half the xp/hour. Fog gloves are worth it only if you can craft 1k ess/hr or less. Before rc guild, you could craft 1k ess/hour so you had the choice btwn an hour of FOG vs. an hour more of rcing. But now, it is inefficient. 100% F2P85 Mining achieved on Dec 4, 200785 Smithing achieved on May 28, 2009
Owned_Nex
Nice guide, but there is a big problem Getting the tokens. If you have the tokens, then use them. But if you are getting tokens for this purpose, then don't bother. You are better off using abyss(members) or just running there. RC Tablets are a great idea, an they seem fast. But getting them takes really really long. Dungeoneering isn't a skill. I'm faster than bots at Sorceress Garden. PM me if you want to chat. My PM is always off. My keyboard is on fire. Want some? upthebanner
Nice guide. I think we would all accept the fact that getting the tokens takes too long for this method to work better than running earths and teleporting. However you should mention the importance of the Lumbridge/Explorer ring in giving extra runes and xp (20xp per air run and 6 ish air runes). Personally I now do Fally Teleport and then cabbage port back as the quickest way to and fro from air altar. I get 45 runs per hour ie about 7200 xp. runite_ore
seems good, but actually you can use the tokens used to buy tablets to buy rune ess and sell them. So the gp per hour should minus the cost of the ess forgone. 1113 total. Always f2p.
