BabyPunchers
Yeah, sure you could profit off this, but when is the update coming? How long will you have to keep your investment? Exactly what i was thinking. So i just invested a small sum into merchanting instead of going all out. I've only put in 3.8m into merchanting with this. People shouldn't put in much more since this is pretty unpredictable. Thanks to all those who have messaged me concerning a revamp of my Range-Slayer guide. Residua
I think prices will come up. There will be more demand and obviously people will take the opertunity to sell at max and people will buy at that price.
jackjonson
Well, all I will say is this. I remember when Coinshare came out, before that time and right after it all of the supplies for those things had gone up, tremendously. Only a small portion of the game needed those resources. Go look at how many people PvP and you can kind of forsee how the prices are going to go pretty soon. I think I might buy myself 50 dhides, some rune, some neitz helms and other stuff. We'll see. while i completely support playing the market and normally letting others make their mistakes when it will effect me, i'm not planning to merchant off this so...neitz helms will not [bleep]e in price, if they get up to around 55k, people will just buy in bulk from the npc and sell on the ge. bored321
im not buying anything yet, it could still be 5 months away. The rewards will probably be much lower than those of the old pking days, chance of losing your items for a messly reward wont get me pking full time again. Not to mention some of the rewards sound like they might not be tradable, such as xp boosters and short-term items. Thanks Gradeskip93 for my awesome sig! Laura
I've invested 4M cash in Sharks. Going to sell a few days after the update is released. Can't wait though, I won't be fighting, but it's a push to help me skill due to rising prices. Also another bonus, training spots will be less crowded on Non-PvP worlds. Sorry to break it to you, but it said in 2008. August, Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec. There's still 5 months left before they have to release it. Even then they can hold it back like they did Summoning.
Zierro
Hopefully it will bump the prices. I'll be fishing sharks and crafting runes soon. 8-)

Only invest what you can afford to lose or what you can do without for 5 months. 3.8m isn't much for me to live without and thats what you investors should think about. Or do what i did, find something that'll atleast stay the same if this update flops. Thanks to all those who have messaged me concerning a revamp of my Range-Slayer guide. magmaguard3
I'm gonna wait till i invest. Could be a total loss. Not likely but it's possible. Let's just hope Jagex turns this update into a winner. \
electrone0
Lets take a look at this, shall we? Back when the old wilderness was around, natures were up there, 300-350 each. Super sets, 10k per set. High shark prices, high food prices. Now, its all gone down the drain. Less than 300 per nature, pots are dirt cheap, bloods are lower than deaths. With this update, it will bring back fishing/cooking, herblore, farming market for the herbs, fletching for the arrows, smithing for the arrows and bolts, runecrafting for the high demand of runes and ancient spells. The possibilities are huge, and now sinces its confirmed, what do you think the market is going to do? Jagex 'broke' the economy, so, they are now going to fix it. *Gets ready to buy in bulk* *saves 10m for mercchanting runes and the like* Winged Fish on a RWT complaint- There's four complaints on the whole site, one from a mother who was convinced by her son that the RWTers she was buying him items from were from Jagex (and then got scammed and is taking it out on Jagex), two people complaining about having their accounts taken away, and one ranting on the trade restrictions and wilderness removal. Now just change the background color and page layout, and you have the RSoF

Jondayla
Yeah, sure you could profit off this, but when is the update coming? How long will you have to keep your investment? Ravenkana
I'm betting that food, potions, and runes will rise. But don't hold your breath when it comes to yew longs or green d'hide armor. With the GE limiting purchases of those items to 100 per four hours, people won't be using them to train high alchemy. Plus, the increase won't be an immediate thing thanks to the fact that the GE updates once per day. I'm also thinking that there are huge stockpiles of consumables as the number of people using them has been greatly reduced for the past nine months. If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system. Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased. The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?
buzz_knight
it will defiantly help skillers and make it worthwhile to skill again =] prices are already on the up.
Attila88
The economy right now isn't broken, just differently normal. This update will however take it towards the direction of it's previous state. It worked then, so I'm fine with that. The Pker-Skiller partnership is going to come back, and it can't be anything but good. I was talking about activities like yew chopping or coal mining as mentioned previously, an inventory of 25 yew logs is a quick 10k for somebody. Of course, we have no idea how Jagex is going to implement the reward system, so killing skillers with small amounts of valuable items (albeit a fast kill if they aren't wearing much armour) might mean little reward for the pkers. We do have an idea, what the 'victim' drops isn't going to be what the PKer receives, it's going to be a drop based on the impressiveness of the kill. So they won't go around getting inventories of yews just because they killed someone who did. Pkers were not there often to kill for the drops, just because they enjoied to cause havoc. Thousands have been killed on the way to the abyss for a glory. And then waited to kill him again if he tryes to collect the untradable items leftr on the ground. Thousand of clue scrollers were killed on their way for a spade. Thousands of people were massacrated from rangers waiting near the agility arena. Not even the agility level to enter to collect the little food the skiller was wearing. Why do you think the furure wil be different?
alcoolj
We PKd because we could if you are dumb enough to mine rune on a PvP world then you must be willing to accept the consequences of playing on a PvP world. Same goes for afkers at bandits etc. All this means is that the skillers/nosey parkers will be entering the PKers realm where anything goes welcome and stay a while :)
kallenkootx
now ur very quick to say that the demand on pking armory/supplies will grow, but i think people are forgetting one vital problem. with the ge, raw materials increase at a similar pace often as the finished product. lets say, ranging pots raised from 1,3k to 1,9k for 3 dose.. does that means u make more money of it? no. because the dwarf weed also increased with a similar price. with this system its still near impossible to profit from making finished products. Now dont be to quick on your judgement. When this PvP world opened, more of the potions will be bought by the pkers, and the usual monsterhunters and skillers. Thus increasing the demand more then the dwarf weed. Interrested in joining the cabbagy madness?
