There is one exception with my previous statement, in al kharid, a meteor can land right outside bank. Obviously, jagex realised people mine and bank here a lot, what they didn't realise is that that is mainlt ftp....

Nice, altho i do believe the reward is dependant on dust quantity, not rock size, as i got the same reward from a size 7 for 200 dust as u got from your size 4.

Actually, it doesn't always land right near a mining site. When it said Piscatoris/Gnome Stronghold/Lleyta, it landed right in Lleyta, just south of the tele spot.

I had one outside Yanille bank. Seems it's always a mining spot or a bank.

Ive seen one at Jatizo, one in the middle of the rimmington mines, one by the al kharid bank, one just south of the rune mine north of neitiznot and one just south from the metal dragon karamja dungeon entrance.

What I have found so far;

 

 

 

The star vanishes after 2 hrs 30 mts. I have seen one behind Varrock East bank, one near mining spot near Piscatoris Fishing Colony, and mining spot north of ruins of Uzis.

 

 

 

There's another landing spot at Kandarin near mines to south of Ardougne.

 

 

 

The discover 'bonus' is 4950 mining xp.

 

 

 

If the Star has not yet been discovered the observatory chart gives the landing time and 'not yet discovered'.

 

 

 

Wearing a glory improves the chances of gems, I got about 15 gems with glory as against about 1 or 2 without glory.

 

 

 

From the one near Uziz i got about 35 k xp, as hardly anyone was there, :-)

 

 

 

Also the reward for 200 star dust was 50k coins, 20 noted gold ores, 152 Cosmics and 52 Astrals. As my friend also got the same amount of stuff, it appears that the reward may be same for all. Can someone please confirm.

Twice in a row on 65 the Morytania/Mos Le'harmless meteor landed next to the docks on Mos Le'harmless. Like 3 paces west of the broken pillar there.

It seems that is not entirely true (Mos le'Harmless and Nardah). Some are in the region of a mining spot, but not actually next to one (Varrock, Duel Arena). It gets confusing.

This one said that the drop would happen in Morytania or Mos Le'Harmless (sp?).

I went to one at the rimmington mine. I didn't get any pics, but there was a bunch of tifers there so it'll prolly show up here eventually :D
