Oh thee irony...

Recommended Posts

Right now the staff as a whole has finished some other projects and have undertaken the huge task of revamping the AOW forum. However, the announcement really says all that needs to be said until the massive project is completed: "We're in the process of re-vamping the Archive of Wisdom and its subforums to make them better then ever. We also recently added a new report function for the new subforums to help us while we revamp the forums, after the forum is reworked the PMG Moderators will explain how the new system will work and only then will we ask you to make reports using that option."

If your asking why now instead of then, time and man power. Staff all have real life things that take precedent. Your thread and many others contributed to this project getting completed. The suggestions from our users really do help! However a thread making a public declaration is really not needed. If you have any questions directly linked to that forum feel free to pm an AOW mod or Admin.

And that is what I disagree with. All the staff who posted saw NO reason whatsoever to make this happen, so I'm asking everyone, why do you think it went by so easily (I'm guessing it did) now, and then I didn't. I understand the 'man power' part but it really doesn't take much to move guides from one forum to another.

P.S: Seriously tintin113, and Musky44 if you want post count THAT bad please, please get off Tip.it. and IF those weren't for post count then I seriously think you should read the rules again...

Captainkidd, I believe that the Guides Forum is still in the process of being renovated. Give them time, I am sure they are going to do something great with it :) .

Oh, since your talking about the Forum, this should really go in Forum Updates and Suggestions.

EDIT: :P

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

This did not "go by so easily now" like you guess. I'm pretty sure the Staff first started playing around with this idea (seriously) at least a 1-2 months ago. Given that it was only just recently released, I'm sure that a large portion of that time was spent deciding how the suggestion would be implemented and if it would even be implemented at all.

And honestly, on the thread you pointed out, not a lot of Staff members commented. I see:

  • [*:1sfv4ttp]Errdoth - Isn't involved in Archive of Wisdom, so while his opinion is valued as a regular user, it does not hold much weight in the final decision-making process (which would involve mostly moderators and admins).

[*:1sfv4ttp]pokemama - Was once heavily involved in the Archive of Wisdom and the related forums. When I was on Staff, she wasn't AS involved as she once was. Whether she's returned to the job, I don't know, so I don't know how much say she had in the final decision.

    [*:1sfv4ttp]the_tallest1 - Admin, lots of involvement/influence :P

So you said that "all the Staff members who posted saw NO reason whatsoever to make this happen," but (1) very few Staff members posted at all and (2) not all of the Staff members who posted have heavy influence in the final decision. I see no Moderators who commented saying that they were against the idea, and forum-related decisions are usually made between the Admins and the Moderators - not the Crew. What I'm trying to say is that for all either of us know, 10 Moderators and 3 Admins could have been totally 100% in favor of this idea.. which would easily allow it to be put into action. See what I'm trying to say? We didn't see many Moderators' opinions, and they're the ones who will PRIMARILY be maintaining the forum anyway.

If the staff had no reason to make it happen, it wouldn't have happened... At the time of that thread, guides were still being reviewed and the forum was working. But eventually people got busy and it became less of a priority. Its coming back together now and there are several others to help out.

As peterpan said, does it really matter how it happened? Its happened now.

Basically it boils down to we have more volunteer help to implement the idea back then we did not.

Thanks to our staff who volunteered to help out as PMG mods.

I also have to say why does it matter if it happen then or now at least its finally happening we all should be thanking our hard working PMG Mods trust me it is not a easy task and it will take plenty of time seeing that we have over 1,700 guides to review.
