Happy Mol Day!

Featured Replies

At my school, the Chemistry students all have to create Moles.. by that I mean, they have to create a stuffed animal Mole that is clever in some way. An example would be "Holy Moley" (a Mole dressed up in priest attire).

Fun stuff ::' But that was two years ago for me..

Praise God my chem section doesn't meet today.

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

Last year in AP Chem I got a special Mol cookie from my teacher since my birthday is the 23rd and this year in Chem lab my prof gave me an extra credit point for the next test I take. What a great day to be born on.

I'm so glad I don't do any sciences at school. Life is so much easier.

Nuh-uh. Chemistry is the science to do right now. [/geekiness]

I never knew about Mol day, and I even had a Chemistry lesson today! All I got was a hard end of chapter test! :notalk:

Physics > Chem :P .And happy mol day everyone ::' \

My teacher told the class about this yesterday I think, and that our school has a contest of whoever memorizes most of the periodic table of elements wins. The prize? An awesome pen with a side thingy that when you pull it out, it shows you the table of elements. Last year's winner got up to the 97th element (I think its the one right behind Californium. How could you forget Californium #-o )

Anyways, my friend wanted to compete for it, seeing as his parents are chemists, he thought they could prepare him. Then he asked the teacher if the kid that won last years contest was still in school, and when she answered yes, he took back what he said about trying :-#

Yea, Physics > you.

And seriously? Only 97? Last year I managed to get 118. Forgot half of them two weeks later, but that's not the point. (And chances are I pronounced most of them wrong)

Happy Mole Day, nerd holidays ftw.

...Whaddaya mean only?! I can barely remember the first two periods

And thats the reason why hate chem tests, I feel as if im playing hide-and-go-seek with the elements :| (and they're so damn good at it...)

I guess I jumped to a conclusion - Are we just talking names, symbols, or what? Atomic mass? Now that'd be incredible.

And I just had too much free time. Quite the nerd here... ::'

(Just saying, if you know all the elements in order, but not their atomic numbers - Sure it helps, but not that much. If you have to find Seaborgium, are you really going to go through the first hundred or so elements in your head?)

Gawd. It was apacolypse of the mol thrusday. Our Chemistry teacher had us run around the school to get these sheets of paper for him that had mole jokes and facts on them. There were 8 teachers who had the paper and once people found out they had them, they would give others the papers. To get the paper we had to run around shouting "Avagadro!" to everyone (which was fun  ). All between classes
