November 4, 200817 yr People, people! If you all would just turn your attention to my F2P banking guide, I'm sure things will become clear : Anyway, I have to side with this argument somewhat. The main problem is that many people don't know the reasoning behind using a bank. (Which is why if you need help, you should visit my guide  ) My following arguments assume that the player is rather intelligent and has a decent amount of experience with the game (IE. Doesn't keep empty vials in their bank). Oh and F2P. I think that all of the gems are worth mentioning. Randoms are all too happy to spring the odd sapphire on you when you're least expecting it and unless you're one of the odd people who doesn't want a 400 GP rock over a salmon or 173GP coal, most people will probably have gems in their banks. In a grand respect, banking boils down to two concepts: Value and Convenience. In the F2P world, we have to for the most part lean over towards the value side. Most of our bank space is devoted to the most valuable items. Convenience in F2P also isn't quite like convenience in P2P. Members typically will have tinderboxes, needles, thread, and the like just to save them a trip to the general or specialty store. F2Pers choose whether or not they want their armour readily available at the cost of 4ish spaces or have them converted into an item set, but have to go to the GE every time they want to use it. However, it just takes some good space management some logic (Do I want to save a trip to a general store or have full rune in my bank?) to make good use of the space. Armour, you must subtract one section since you are waring one of the three or mixed. Its unlikely you run around naked unless you are a skiller(in which case you won't have any) I have to side with the person who said that people don't wear it because of its incumbency. Full rune definitely takes a large chunk of your run time. People can run away from randoms. For range arrows, there is really only 1. Nobody trains with steel, and iron is uncommon. You're joking right? Iron is VERY common amongst budgeted pures or even people powertraining. Steels are quite often used by higher up players. Conversely, I've rarely seen anybody training with mithril or adamant. 10-18 for randoms is also unreasonable. I have never met anyone with EVERY single thing from randoms. Quite honestly if I was given the space, I'd keep every single random event item I could. For the GoP, I don't think theres 5. The robes is pointless, and tabs useless. 1 for the tokens. Maybe 1 more space max. The robes pointless? I think not. I, like many others, actually think they're the most practical mage robes in F2P. They provide a sizable improvement over basic wizard robes, but also have the advantage that they don't degrade with use as opposed to FoG robes. They're also very snazzy and have shvveet goggles. \ RCing tabs are also the only 1-click telly in F2P. You also lose very little if you were to die with them. Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug
November 7, 200817 yr As always, answers are in bold Armour, you must subtract one section since you are waring one of the three or mixed. Its unlikely you run around naked unless you are a skiller(in which case you won't have any) I have to side with the person who said that people don't wear it because of its incumbency. Full rune definitely takes a large chunk of your run time. People can run away from randoms. I never said you had to ware rune. Robes maybe? Something that weighs nothing? For range arrows, there is really only 1. Nobody trains with steel, and iron is uncommon. You're joking right? Iron is VERY common amongst budgeted pures or even people powertraining. Steels are quite often used by higher up players. Conversely, I've rarely seen anybody training with mithril or adamant. I am not joking. I rarely joke unless the topic is so offtopic, irrelevent, or plainly stupid. Iron is never used on f2p because it is the exact same as bronze. On members, the max hit is increased by 1 when the level ends in _9. 10-18 for randoms is also unreasonable. I have never met anyone with EVERY single thing from randoms. Quite honestly if I was given the space, I'd keep every single random event item I could. But realistically, you don't get all of them, or keep them all. If you are using the GoP robes, then you don't need the FoG robes(if you insist they are so much better) Also, if you REALLY pk, you arn't bringing teleports, and its easy to escape on f2p. Plus, rangers and mages shouldn't be afraid of loosing 5k worth of amrour. For meleers, its almost impossible to get k0'. . Dungeoneering isn't a skill. I'm faster than bots at Sorceress Garden. November 8, 200817 yr I am not joking. I rarely joke unless the topic is so offtopic, irrelevent, or plainly stupid. Iron is never used on f2p because it is the exact same as bronze. On members, the max hit is increased by 1 when the level ends in _9. Tip.its ranged damage table will show that they are not the same and at certain levels they provide a +1 damage over bronze. They also tend to be more accurate and deal more consistently high damage. I've trained on guards, giants, lessers, and many other things and the arrow types I see the most are bronze, iron, and steel. But realistically, you don't get all of them, or keep them all. I don't get them because I would rather have a rune scimitar or something of similar importance instead of say a camo top. If Jagex gave us 5 extra spaces, all of them would most likely go towards storing my randoms. For meleers, its almost impossible to get k0'. . I'm sorry I didn't make it clear earlier, but what I meant to say is that GoP robes are the most practical training robes. FoG robes would be better suited to PvP. The degrading factor becomes a real noticeable drawback when training magic for extended periods of time, making the GoP robes a much more attractive option. However during a fight where every attack bonus counts, then FoG robes would be more appropriate. I'm confident most people spend much more time actually training than doing PvP. Ok, perhaps my teleport argument was a little weak as I don't have much experience doing so and am not too familiar with how most people do it, but at the very least, the telly tabs are a cheap form of transportation to different places. They're excellent for applications other than RCing (Mind tabs could be used to get to the Zamorak wine quicker). Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug
November 9, 200817 yr You use a formula which dictates what people should have in their banks and use it as justification for why F2P deserves more bank space?
November 9, 200817 yr Calm down... For FOG, Rune Gaunts, Zerker, and coif is needed. You don't necessarily combat, but we will count that aswell. Thats what? 6? Druid is useless. Unless you are a hardcore Clan Warrer from a active PvP clan, you don't have it. About the armor, sure you can take it off, but most people have it on most of the time. Expecially robes, which are weightless. About arrows, people only train with iron and bronze Steel is not used. As for the randoms clothing, you can either ware them while skilling, or others. Sure the GoP robes are good for defense, but if you are fighting, you won't actually be using it for defense. Sure, it is the best ROBE defense, but why are you using it for defense? Being a clan PKer, I keep druidic (for wars), GoP robes (for mage training/skilling/normal clan wars) and I also keep monks robes + blue wizard hat for PK trips deep into the wilderness although these double up as no armour gear when solo PKing. I also keep the regular rune, but with rune skirt as well as the legs for clan PKing (lighter), holy symbol (wars), rune mace (wars). With all this gear, I have to drop all my random event stuff to have around 55 of the 60 slots filled up.
November 9, 200817 yr Or you could do what I do and get members, get placeholders for every f2p item, return to f2p and have all the bank space you need. Although admittedly I did withdraw all my money  [bleep] the law, they can eat my dick that's word to Pimp
November 10, 200817 yr That wouldn't help with the randoms. Once you take them out, you can't put them back in. Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug
November 11, 200817 yr Tip.its ranged damage table will show that they are not the same and at certain levels they provide a +1 damage over bronze. They also tend to be more accurate and deal more consistently high damage. I've trained on guards, giants, lessers, and many other things and the arrow types I see the most are bronze, iron, and steel. There is no higher accuracy as long as you are using the same bow. Although some times it will increase the max hit by 1 in the highest of range levels, the price makes it not a good option I don't get them because I would rather have a rune scimitar or something of similar importance instead of say a camo top. If Jagex gave us 5 extra spaces, all of them would most likely go towards storing my randoms. ok. You can't "pk" with mage on f2p. Sorry. True, but do you know how long it takes to get all those tabs? Ad seriously. Maybe at the extreme you use 2 slots for tabs. But even that is a stretch. Dungeoneering isn't a skill. I'm faster than bots at Sorceress Garden. PM me if you want to chat. My PM is always off. November 11, 200817 yr the main thing that irks me is that when i convert from p2p to f2p and plan to stay f2p for a long time i've to dump lots of my p2p stuff or sell them at min price on the ge...i'm quite okay with f2p bank space although i admit it is a bit of a squeeze especially since most rangers have bronze, iron, steel and addy arrows. we can do without miths since addy are for pking and bronze, iron and steel are for training. also the lack of bank space has caused me to be unable to buy any god armours at all...sucks totally maxed out melee on 10/10/08, current goal: 94/99 cookinglife may be unfair, but why can't it be unfair in my favor?my fake plant died because i forgot to pretend to water it
November 11, 200817 yr Any updates that give more items for f2p should be followed by an additional bank space or two for f2p. If 60 was acceptable before fog etc, then the bak space should raise afterwards. I am a member, but agree that it can be frustrating for those people in f2p who are higher levels and involved in clans to find space for items that they may need to have. They may not pay to play, but in allowing f2p to exist, Jagex has conceded that that is acceptable, and they should give small allowances. If they add more items to f2p, they should allow people to store those items. It's only fair.
November 12, 200817 yr I don't really think f2p needs any more bank space. There really is NO reason to be a pack rat. You might like collecting random clothing ad such, but its not necesary, expecially the ones you can just get again easily(like frog clothing). Most you will never ware after getting them. I was f2p for a long time. I played during classic. Although I never really came back to RS until a few months before RS2, I never had bank problems. Back then, I belive there was barely room for the most eccentials. F2pers really shouldn't even think of keeping anything that is not the topmost important. I was f2p until lvl 98-100. Somewhere there I went p2p. Dungeoneering isn't a skill. I'm faster than bots at Sorceress Garden. PM me if you want to chat. My PM is always off. My keyboard is on fire. Want some?
December 1, 200817 yr A lot of those people posting replies have noted that bank space is, or was, a major reason for their decision to switch to p2p. One can argue that f2p is simply a "taste" of what runescape really is with p2p. Therefore, if it's making jagex money, making f2p players desire to be p2p, why in the world would they want to give extra inventory slots to f2p players? Whether we want more banking slots for f2p players or not, they're not going to get them. Less spaces for f2p= more p2p players= more money for Jagex. It's simple math.
December 1, 200817 yr PS: I also note that a "skill related" number should be added- for example: mining/smithing: ores and bars added, or Fishing: feathers, fish, etc. On average, I take up about 5 bank slots with such items. (Note: this does not include items such as pickaxes, woodcutting axes, etc, which were already mentioned.
December 2, 200817 yr It all comes down to how the person plays. For ~3 years I was f2p, and not one was I out of bankspace. Why? because I didn't have aall the stuff you mentioned was "needed", as it wasn't truly needed. If you're filling the space, you're hoarding. [bleep] OFF HOW ARE U SO [bleep]ING LUCKY U PIECE OF [bleep]ING SHIT [bleep] [bleep] [wagon] MUNCHER
December 3, 200817 yr well, there are things that you want to keep in your bank space, like arrows, and stuff that you have more than 1, and there are alot of stuff that you store more than one in order to make sure you got enough lol.
December 9, 200817 yr Author well im back and for those of you wondering where i was i had life complications and now they are over for the most part. the main thing i whould like to say is that those of you that keep saying "i was f2p (insert statement here)" clearly have not fully read my argument. I admited that for a long time i had no problems with the bank sizes and infact ill admit that i was with the members and against more f2p bank space. Although that eventulay changed as i then memtioned. Also I know that my numbers are bias but i did acutaly look into it by asking people and also on past experience is how i got my data. Also i belive i did mention that this number chould vairy from being much less than i belived or much more than i belived but that depends on the player. Now there are some players out there who do one skill over an extended period of time and dont stop untill they gain 10-20 levels in that one skill, and yes i have seen people like this. Althougth i think it is safe to say that there are people who change skills after 1 lvl or less out there but for the most part people are in between these two areas and depending on where you fall will effect how much bank space you need. There could be endless solutions to this issue out there and my ideas are only one of these attempted solutions. P.S. yes i know i didnt add any skilling sections to my data but this is because for the most part when you skill you use about 1-3 bank spaces and then sell a product when done and while this may affect you for some time it is not a constant hinderance. also on the note of skilling tools, the main ones i used were wcing, mining, fishing, chisle(for those people who drop gems but want the exp.), and a random one that often varied(ex. tiarias, hammer, tinderbox, ect.) also i whould like to remention my idea about regainable droped random items. they whould work just like holiday events and i belive this whould help f2pers and members at the same time but also help some f2p with banking issues. f2pers try to keep randoms because they are the only real form of expression f2pers get. members wear quest clothes or expensive garments but other than trimed armor and holiday event items f2p has none of this. Words are only interpertaions of opinions.
December 11, 200817 yr also i whould like to remention my idea about regainable droped random items. they whould work just like holiday events and i belive this whould help f2pers and members at the same time but also help some f2p with banking issues. f2pers try to keep randoms because they are the only real form of expression f2pers get. members wear quest clothes or expensive garments but other than trimed armor and holiday event items f2p has none of this. Good point. By having the option to have your random clothing in with your Holiday gear not only helps both F2P and P2P, but also technically gives both parties more bank space without actually increasing the number of slots. Taking a Playstation 3 break.
