MZ didn't work for me. I'm getting a bug where as soon as the probing sequence is over, I wake up in the cell but unable to move, look around or do anything in general.

Well if you have it for PC (which I don't think you are one of them), hit the tilde key during that time and type enableplayercontrols. That will give your character the ability to move around for PC. As for X-Box, try either redownloading it or making sure you have the correct patch.

Hoping to get a new Signature (with matching avatar) soon. :D

In the meantime...Steam username: )I'll rewrite it later (add me if you want)

On an unrelated note, have you ever had any issues with mods causing Fallout to crash more?

I forgot you asked for recommended mods.

I've actually concluded it makes the game run with less FPS, crappy load times, and many, many more crashes, all depending on what you have for mods. Enhanced weather used to cause FPS drops, for example. Usually, the modders try to fix their mods. But nevertheless, mods cause some problems, and add to the game. Similarly what Bethesda does with their patches.

Holy [cabbage].

Mothership Zeta trailer is absolutely incredible. Wow, I'm sort of speechless.

What do aliens want to do with a bombed out Earth?

Seriously. :|

Aliens have always been an easter egg type of thing since Fallout 1. They come to the earth probably to experiment on the remnants and to examine the ungodly amounts of radiation that was bestowed upon the earth after World War 3.

Now that I've been seeing all this criticism for the DLC, I've been noticing some of it myself. The story is probably the most annoying thing about MZ. You don't actually ever find out, and despite the remarks of the producers, you just end up devoting all your time and energy to reaching the top of the ship to escape, which is fun, but lacks on the story. The weapons are fun, but I think the drone cannon needs some getting used to. I don't know, actually, as of now, I can't even finish the story. I've seen my brother do the spacewalk, and it's totally BS. It's boring and short, and just lacks any kind of substance overall. There were a bunch of annoying glitches overall as well.

I still have to finish it, but I can definitely understand people's complaints.

The death ray thing is a frickin' joke too. It doesn't even damage anything in the D.C. area, but the Death Ray appears to be shooting at the West Coast of California and the East Coast. But nonetheless its pretty useless to shoot it.

As for the DLC itself, the story is what pissed me off overall. There wasn't a story. I wouldn't be surprised if someone modded Mothership Zeta and overhauled it completely to actually give it substance, and not make it feel like O:A. The things I had the most fun with was in fact the weapons, but playing on very hard with FOOK completely made the aliens insanly and god like. I had to use about 250 stimpaks to actually stay alive throughout the entirety of the DLC, and despite my extensive energy weapons skill in the 100', I was unable to damage the aliens as much as they did me. However, despite me using 250 stimpaks, I thought of the challenge as fun.

Someone released a mod in order to be able to re explore the ship, but now that I have all of the unique weapons I still see no reason to return. And you would've thought they learned their lesson from O:A, or from making an amazing DLC like Pint Lookout. Its too bad, too. Because MZ was looking to be the best one. It just seemed like Bethesda hyped it too much, but I suppose that I agree with what some people have said: we hyped it, not beth. Even so, they should have delivered.

I mean after I clear out the bridge nothing happens. I can't fire the death ray and finish the quest.

  • 6 months later...

massive bump! i just beat mothership zeta last night, and despite all you complainers, i enjoyed it a lot. i did think the deathray was disappointing, but so what? i had fun with the whole thing, and since all i have left to do is point lookout (i've done literally everything else except the tenpenny towers quest, and some achievements and such, 59/72 currently) i've not picked up the game and really played it in ages. the only reason i have all the dlc now is because my nephew got the game of the year edition from his friend, and so i just installed all 5 dlc. i already had the first 3, but because of the xbox 360 being [developmentally delayed]ed with licensing and such, i couldn't play my saves unless connected to xbl, as the dlc would work so i was missing a lot of stuff. so yeah i started playing again and i loved mothership zeta, it did exactly what a dlc should do, add fun playing time to the game. that's all i really require from it, i had more fun with mothership zeta than i did with the pitt. and i don't know why i'm seeing complaints about operation anchorage, i liked that one too. i'm just excited for point lookout now, because it's supposed to be the best one. we'll see about that.

oh, also any advice for point lookout before i head in there later today?

I'm stuck between a couple rocks and I can't get out. I can't teleport because it says there's an enemy near by, but raidar shows none. I tried killing myself but I end up spawning where I was before. HELP

Load your last save. It should be when you visited an area last. Otherwise load an earlier save. Hopefully it isn't too far back.

Open console and 'noclip' I think it is. ;o

huh?

Console commands for the PC version. I'm guessing noclip makes it so you don't get stuck on rocks or debris. If you have the 360 or PS3 version you can't enter console commands.
