but the two speeches that Obama and McCain were both historical

Don't they have people write their speeches or something though?

A lot of the big speeches in recent history were written by people other than the person who read them. It isn't exactly a new phenomenon.

He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart,

and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God.

Holy crap this thread grew 10 pages overnight!

BR BR BR? HUEHUEHEUEHUE

I concur.

However, I've seen him give speeches, and he really isn't that great, IMO. (He came to give a speech a mile from my house) He just sounds like everyone else, so I don't know what people see in him.

I went to one of his speech's when he came to my school, Arizona State University, and I enjoyed his speech. It was easy to connect to.

Race for those who keep bringing it up, is man made. You can't control your race. I don't remember who it was but someone a few post up talks about Obama playing the race card. He is black, he may have white culturally but he is black. Its not like he can walk on stage and people wont see him as black, he has to play it, its apart of him if you like it or not. McCain is invisible to race, he's white, and male. Playing the race card was NOT the deciding factor in this race. It was the hope for change.

Obama becoming president is huge not only for America but for the World as well.

For those who complain about taxes, don't vote for your wallet, vote for the better of the country.

Every election no matter who becomes president, these arguments are always be the same..

Yeah, but delivery is also really important. Obama naturally has that charisma, and McCain was strong throughout his.

I agree. Giving a good speech is hard and takes practice. That is why they have classes for it.

Sometimes. Obama writes a lot of his own speeches.

The most important thing we learned is that 47.3% of Americans are still intolerant, racist, stupid rednecks.

Oh no. It couldn't be that. I mean nobody actually disagreed with Obama on issues. They were just racists.

15 pages of posts overnight?!?!?!??! That's gotta be a new record for OT.

Anyway, I fell asleep long before the results were in so I didn't see the speeches. I'll look em up on Youtube later. I'm glad Obama won. He had the support of the international community and had about 2/3 of the electoral votes. Now let's see what happens to the nation in January...

But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.
That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.

Apparently a lot of people say it. I own.

I think and hope you're being sarcastic :-k

First, congratulations!

Second, this will be very interesting... Seeing how things will change and what he and his administration will achive.

Yes we can!!!

Just noticed the stock market is down nearly 500 points today. Coincidence?

Yeah I know, I just don't like when people are praised on how well they read rather than how well they write.

Yeah, it is, the stock market has been fluctuating quite often recently actually. I'm not to sure if this thread is a joke to you, but if it is it's really not funny, first you think everyone who didn't vote for Obama is a racist, and 2nd you think that because he was elected the stock market went down 500 points.

You sir, are an idiot.

Usually it happens when a democrat is elected, if a republican wins it goes up i think. Or this time it was because people where afraid of the current market...

Yes, completely ignore the fact that the stock market has been a roller coaster the last few months.

Yes, ignore that fact that I just said that.

So what you're saying is that anyone who doesn't vote for Obama is a racist? You my friend, win the gold badge of ignorance.

This is at least the 2nd or 3rd thread people have said the same thing that I've said, only two posts below, people should really read others posts, at least on the same page that they're posting on.

You, my friend, along with several other people, have earned the gold badge of utter sarcasm detector failure.

Someone had to say it.
