obfuscator
All those items add to around 75k an hour when you subtract costs for prayer\armor\summons\teleports\time to get new tasks or bank etc. And I've gotten over 100k fire runes, so yes you do get a lot. Except that so far 3260 of them have sold in the GE in the past 3 weeks. I've had to use them for junk -.- You always use the worst examples. I just had a nech task(150) that took me a little over an hour. I spent 5k on food, pots, and bunyip. Got 3 rune boots, 4 full helms, 3 snap seeds. Almost 300k cash. And a good 80k xp. And while this is a good task, more tasks are like this (lots of profit) then those that are not. langer
If you plan on reaching high level slayer one day, you should not stop slaying...you will probably regret stoping. If your only goal is to go to GWD and have stats to thrive there... quit slaying because as some other people stated, slayer is not the way to gain the best combat XP and it is not the best money maker using combat. It is profitable, but not the best methods. romu000
People recommend having an F2P combat of 100 before using Duradel Not people ! 100 CMB is Duradel requirement. Now you are right at the xp curve point when levels comes for more xp (for slayer at least). So i'd tell you to trust your luck on both drops/clues and continue upward slayer. It's worth it on the long term. and it's also good training changes. Oh baby light the dark side...
Inuashakent
Theres a huge debate in the debate club about this very topic. 30+ pages, but they really aren't arguing if Slayer is better or not. Why? Because it isn't. But can Slayer xp be weighted in comparison to cash, charms, or xp? ultimatballr
Slayer is always worth it in my opinion. As your slayer level and combat levels increase you'll see a significant increase in the amount of profit you make from each task and also to answer your other question you should stay at Chaeldar(Lost City) until 100 CB F2P and then move on to Duradel. I didn't know slayer level affected the amount of good drops you got during a task.. Just because you can get d boots, whips and dark bows at higher levels it doesn't mean you actually WILL get them as drops. So to say slayer makes you more money as you gain levels is pretty much false. It increases that chances that you COULD get a rare"ish" drop if you are lucky.. but isn't that the case with every other rare drop? For example, fire giants require NO slayer level to kill.. yet I have killed well over 30k of them, my best drop was a d spear which wasn't until I hit about the last thousand or so I killed. I have killed over 300 Mith, 2k irons, 1k steel, and 4k black dragons, all a 0 slayer requirement, and am yet to get a Vissage. Would a high slayer level give me a better chance at it? From your theory it would.. -.- ----------- To AceRipper: Since slayer is NOT in any of your goal category's whether it be long term or short term, then just do away with it. I am not 100% against slayer, I enjoy it actually, slayer is the reason I actually came back from a long break from RS, it single-handedly got me "back into the game". However it's of no use to you, you want fast levels for boss hunting which slayer will not provide. Just go with powertraining. Apparently, my signature was to big. Using a specific example is also very misleading. Averages count, not specific tasks. Drops: 1x Draconic Visage, 56x Abyssal Whip, 5x Demon Head, D Drops: 37, Barrows Drops: 43, DK Drops: 29GWD drops: 14,000x Bars, 1x Armadyl Hilt, 2x Armadyl Skirt, 4x Sara Sword, 1x Saradomin Hilt, 8x Bandos Hilt, 8x Bandos Platebody, 9x Bandos Tassets, 4x Bandos Boots, 43x Godsword Shard, 82x Dragon BootsDry streak records: Saradomin 412 kills Bandos 988 kills Spirit Mages 633 kills - Slayer Sucks

meb
It's just a matter of opinion. I for one really enjoy Slaying, the variation of the tasks keeps me interested in combat. Being able to say "Omg abyssals are being greedy today" also makes you feel high lvl :P . Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks. Bauke
It would be awkward if slayer was the most effective way for combat xp, charms, money and what not. It would defeat the whole purpose of "normal" combat. Slayer is designed for variety, special monsters, special drops and other fun elements, like the slayer points. There's more to slayer than just the xp. I don't like fighting monsters with no reason, but with slayer I enjoy it. As for the topic starter.. you seem to be wanting to get levels for GWD. Therefore slaying has no real purpose for you. Just do the most effective way, which seems to be armoured zombies, as displayed in this and other topics.
