Has anyone seen the 2006 film of "The Secret Law Of Attraction". For those of you who haven't....

Basically discuss your opinions and thoughts on the law of attration. Personally i believe in it, and use it to the best that i can. Very interesting movie, and their is also a book on it.

I read the book. And the only word that came to mind throughout the whole thing was [cabbage].

I'm not sure I understand what their trying to pull here, religious delusions, scam ect

 

 

 

but barely 10mins in and they are already talking utter [cabbage].

As for the thinking positive idea, you're a fool if you believe that being in a good mood will help me win the jackpot in vegas, let alone change the probability of it happening. People tend to notice more winning going on when they're happing just as those who are in a bad mood see their losing. Mood might change it when in a game of physical or mental strength, but certainly not probability.

Oh yeah... My drama teacher taught this us like... 2 years ago, for some unknown reason. It's complete and utter rubbish if you ask me and it doesn't make sense how it could work anyway. It's just a way to make you be optimistic about things that could happen and being optimistic helps, generally.

Have to say about the video tho, before responding, I didin't really like it that much. Never heard about it before and it sounded too egocentric and hollywood to be really likable for me. But it sure has a hint of truth in it.

 

 

 

Ok. For the being in good mood isn't gonna help you win jackpot in vegas is true if you put it like that. Ofcourse. But, I dare say that being positive about things in overall will bring fortune in long run. If fortune is what you aim for, that is. Gambling is fools tool anyways and makes a bad example imo.

 

Better example would be, lets say, love. You have to be positive about yourself being able to attract the opposive sex. If you dwell in negative thoughts like, "i'm a nerd" or "I don't look good", youre gonna end up not attractive. The opposive is the positive: You think "i'm one sexy mofo" or "girls really like me", youre gonna end up being more attractive. Your body language will be reflecting your thoughts. Negative: shin down, weak voice. Positive: shin up, strong voice. Just two quick examples.

 

 

 

Was Oprah talking about she thought about color purple and it brought color purple to her life? Not sure, but anyways, it's true: if you think about colour purple all the time, youre gonna end up seeing purple more because thats what your focusing in. Think about money, you see more money, you see more ways to make money.

 

Our minds are very powerful, and they really do create our lives. It's really common knowledge, nothing spectacular or "secret": the thing you put your focus on is the thing youre gonna be "attracting" (coudln't find a better word")

Hard workers and goal setters get are more likely to get what they want, it's got nothing to do with asking the universe for it. If you're condensing the whole esoteric interpretation of the law of attraction down to "think positive!" then you're missing the point. It makes specific claims and has a method far beyond just thinking positively. The whole thing is garbage. What really annoys me is when they try and rope quantum physics into it to make it more plausible.

I saw this on Oprah, laughing the entire way. There was a woman who had a "vision board" or something like that, a bulletin board where she posted what she wanted to gain and looked at it every day. And here's the kicker; she said-paraphrased, mind you, this took place many moons ago- "You can't just put up the picture and just hope it comes. You have to actually work for it, and that's what makes the Secret work."

 

 

 

Well, duh. Hard work gets you what you want, no secret there. No universal attraction, no energy force compelling you towards your mindset. Just good ol' fashioned hard work. Something we've known about for years. Centuries, really.

If youre going to pick a goal, you're going to have to think positively about that goal, so that you don't quit on your way. Also to keep the goal in mind so you don't "forget" your goal. Nothing bad with your goals written on a vision board.

That part's debatable. While it might be classified as wishing by some, determination is the same thing. Once a few years back, I had a tough piece of music to learn on the drums for a state competition. I hardly looked over the music, but I really wished that I could learn it. After a nights sleep, I woke up and somehow knew how to play the entire piece perfectly (and faster) than anyone else. Call it dumb luck, move my post to the paranormal thread for all I care, what happened was bizarre.
