December 2, 200817 yr (This is not a movie discussion please read befor posting) Has anyone seen the 2006 film of "The Secret Law Of Attraction". For those of you who haven't.... "The Secret reveals the most powerful law in the universe. The knowledge of this law has run like a golden thread through the lives and the teachings of all the prophets, seers, sages and saviors in the world's history, and through the lives of all truly great men and women. All that they have ever accomplished or attained has been done in full accordance with this most powerful law. Without exception, every human being has the ability to transform any weakness or suffering into strength, power, perfect peace, health, and abundance. Rhonda Byrne's discovery of The Secret began with a glimpse of the truth through a 100 year old book. She went back through centuries, tracing and uncovering a common truth that lay at the core of the most powerful philosophies, teachings and religions in the world. What Rhonda discovered is now captured in The Secret, a film that has been viewed by millions around the world. The Secret has also been released as an audio-book and printed book with more than six million copies in print. The Secret explains with simplicity the law that is governing all lives, and offers the knowledge of how to create - intentionally and effortlessly - a joyful life. This is the secret to everything - the secret to unlimited happiness, love, health and prosperity. This is the secret to life." Here is also a Youtube video of the first 20 minutes of The Secret. Basically discuss your opinions and thoughts on the law of attration. Personally i believe in it, and use it to the best that i can. Very interesting movie, and their is also a book on it. 99 Magic achieved in December 2004.99 Cooking achieved in Novemeber 2003.743rd to achieve 80 Dungeoneering.Won over 5.5 Bill staking in partyhats and cash.RSC product account created in 2002.

December 2, 200817 yr That book/movie is a give and take kind of story. All that gets out of it is be positive and you will see life a positive way, but be negative and you will see everything in a negative way. Nothing we didn't know already.

December 2, 200817 yr Author If Oprah says it's true, then it must be true  99 Magic achieved in December 2004.99 Cooking achieved in Novemeber 2003.743rd to achieve 80 Dungeoneering.Won over 5.5 Bill staking in partyhats and cash.RSC product account created in 2002.
December 2, 200817 yr . All that gets out of it is be positive and you will see life a positive way, but be negative and you will see everything in a negative way. Nothing we didn't know already. Exactly. It makes sense because it is true. Think about losing and you will lose, think about winning and you will have better propability of winning. Positive feelings bring positiviness around you and negative feelings bring negative things around you, quite simple. While that may be the main message of the video, that's not what it directly says. It says that there are mystical forces within the universe that attract and detract, and even claims that quantum physics backs it up, which is complete bogus. It's hollywood. Ofcourse it is shouting its message with hollywoodish way. I don't think there were any mentions of "mystical forces" in the video. Ofcourse you don't win lottery just by thinking you will win lottery, but because you are thinking that, you are thinking about lottery all the time and that makes you buy lottery ticket = you have better chance in winning lottery that if you wouldn't be thinking about winning lottery. Reality is hundreds of times more beautiful and more interesting than delusions. Fairy tales just tend to be easier to follow than the wonderful intricacies of life.

As for the thinking positive idea, you're a fool if you believe that being in a good mood will help me win the jackpot in vegas, let alone change the probability of it happening. People tend to notice more winning going on when they're happing just as those who are in a bad mood see their losing. Mood might change it when in a game of physical or mental strength, but certainly not probability. YOU! ATTEND TET EVENTS! CLICK HERE!
December 2, 200817 yr Oh yeah... My drama teacher taught this us like... 2 years ago, for some unknown reason. It's complete and utter rubbish if you ask me and it doesn't make sense how it could work anyway. It's just a way to make you be optimistic about things that could happen and being optimistic helps, generally. Nice, a response  Have to say about the video tho, before responding, I didin't really like it that much. Never heard about it before and it sounded too egocentric and hollywood to be really likable for me. But it sure has a hint of truth in it. Ok. For the being in good mood isn't gonna help you win jackpot in vegas is true if you put it like that. Ofcourse. But, I dare say that being positive about things in overall will bring fortune in long run. If fortune is what you aim for, that is. Gambling is fools tool anyways and makes a bad example imo. Better example would be, lets say, love. You have to be positive about yourself being able to attract the opposive sex. If you dwell in negative thoughts like, "i'm a nerd" or "I don't look good", youre gonna end up not attractive. The opposive is the positive: You think "i'm one sexy mofo" or "girls really like me", youre gonna end up being more attractive. Your body language will be reflecting your thoughts. Negative: shin down, weak voice. Positive: shin up, strong voice. Just two quick examples. Was Oprah talking about she thought about color purple and it brought color purple to her life? Not sure, but anyways, it's true: if you think about colour purple all the time, youre gonna end up seeing purple more because thats what your focusing in. Think about money, you see more money, you see more ways to make money. Our minds are very powerful, and they really do create our lives. It's really common knowledge, nothing spectacular or "secret": the thing you put your focus on is the thing youre gonna be "attracting" (coudln't find a better word") Reality is hundreds of times more beautiful and more interesting than delusions. Fairy tales just tend to be easier to follow than the wonderful intricacies of life.
December 2, 200817 yr Hard workers and goal setters get are more likely to get what they want, it's got nothing to do with asking the universe for it. If you're condensing the whole esoteric interpretation of the law of attraction down to "think positive!" then you're missing the point. It makes specific claims and has a method far beyond just thinking positively. The whole thing is garbage. What really annoys me is when they try and rope quantum physics into it to make it more plausible. La lune ne garde aucune rancune.
December 2, 200817 yr I saw this on Oprah, laughing the entire way. There was a woman who had a "vision board" or something like that, a bulletin board where she posted what she wanted to gain and looked at it every day. And here's the kicker; she said-paraphrased, mind you, this took place many moons ago- "You can't just put up the picture and just hope it comes. You have to actually work for it, and that's what makes the Secret work." Well, duh. Hard work gets you what you want, no secret there. No universal attraction, no energy force compelling you towards your mindset. Just good ol' fashioned hard work. Something we've known about for years. Centuries, really. But I guess hard work isn't entirely commonplace in today's America.... Command the Murderous Chalices! Drink ye harpooners! drink and swear, ye men that man the deathful whaleboat's bow- Death to Moby Dick!BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!
December 2, 200817 yr Well when you put it that way, of course. Love hasn't got anything to do with probability, that's 100% emotion and attitude. YOU! ATTEND TET EVENTS! CLICK HERE!
December 3, 200817 yr There was a woman who had a "vision board" or something like that, a bulletin board where she posted what she wanted to gain and looked at it every day. You have to actually work for it, and that's what makes the Secret work." Hard working and goal setting, thats what I thought what this thing was about. If youre going to pick a goal, you're going to have to think positively about that goal, so that you don't quit on your way. Also to keep the goal in mind so you don't "forget" your goal. Nothing bad with your goals written on a vision board. It actually makes sense. It's common knowledge. Not a "secret". But it is true. It certainly is one of the keys to success: Positive mindset of your goals. Reality is hundreds of times more beautiful and more interesting than delusions. Fairy tales just tend to be easier to follow than the wonderful intricacies of life.
December 3, 200817 yr Sounds like utter nonsense to me. The only proven way to get what you want is to work hard for it. No amount of wishing to be a scientist got me good results at uni. It's only when I started to study my [wagon] off that my results started getting better. The main thing I don't like about "the secret" is that it fails dismally to promote a good work ethic. It's perhaps even detrimental to it.

It's only when I started to study my [wagon] off that my results started getting better. That part's debatable. While it might be classified as wishing by some, determination is the same thing. Once a few years back, I had a tough piece of music to learn on the drums for a state competition. I hardly looked over the music, but I really wished that I could learn it. After a nights sleep, I woke up and somehow knew how to play the entire piece perfectly (and faster) than anyone else. Call it dumb luck, move my post to the paranormal thread for all I care, what happened was bizarre. YOU! ATTEND TET EVENTS! CLICK HERE!
December 3, 200817 yr No amount of wishing to be a scientist got me good results at uni. It's only when I started to study my [wagon] off that my results started getting better. But you thinked about being a scientist, right? I think this was the order things went for you am I right? 1. I wish I was a scientist. 2. Work hard for being scienties 3. ?Scientist? Now if the number 1 would have been "I don't really want to be scientist" or "i'll never make it" you would have never studied hard and would have failed to get better grades. It's so simple it's stupid almost. But yeah, checked the website and it even has "secret text messages service" available for your cellphone every monday and friday for "only $3.99 per month". Yeah it's nonsense. But I still think the basic idea it sprouts from is not. Reality is hundreds of times more beautiful and more interesting than delusions. Fairy tales just tend to be easier to follow than the wonderful intricacies of life.

Either way, the person who thought up the franchise must be laughing all the way to the bank.
