*sigh* Typical computer, I had a whole thread wrote, and it goes and crashes internet explorer and loses it... -.-

 

 

 

Anyway, I have come to the sad for me decision that I need to leave RuneScape behind for good.

 

 

 

There are many reasons why, but the main reasons are as follows:

 

 

 

1. My eyesight is getting a lot worse, and the constant staring at a computer screen for over 6 hours a day, 7 days a week is a major factor I think. I am also developing a very short temper, due probably to my lack of social contact,

 

 

 

2. Due to the time I have spent on Runescape, I have no life. I have no friends outside of Runescape, apart from 2 friends at college, who I do not know outside of school, therefore leaving me confined to the house. I have tried to find a medium between real life and Runescape, but the game is too addicting for me.

 

 

 

3. Speaking of college, I need to focus on it a lot more than I currently am. I am so close to being kicked out, and if it wasn't for being knocked off my bike by a car three weeks ago, I most likely would have been kicked off already.

 

 

 

I wish I could find a way to balance runescape with real life, but I have tried in futile for nearly a year, and its time to call it enough.

 

 

 

To my friends...

 

 

 

I had personal goodbyes for each of you... bloody computer... you know what I think of you, and you must realise how much you mean to me (at one point, Runescape friends were the ONLY friends I had) I'm sorry I did not speak to you ingame of this (except Mlll555 not long ago) but I do not wish for tearful farewells ;) or for you to try and persuade me to come back to Runescape, which probably wouldn't take a lot of persuasion. I may log in from time to time and say hi, but it will be too infrequent in my opinion. Sadly, thats the way it must be for me. I the lot of you that see 'Dragonkng198 has logged in', and I will miss you all.

 

 

 

To the community of Tip.It, thanks for the fun, the help, and my friends, which I made after discovering the very first Blogscape clan chat from this very forum. To quote 'I like more than half less than I would like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve' ;)

Well, I knew this was coming sooner or later, you'll be missed, not only by me, but all of the original Bloscapers and all of Esc. I hope College fairs well for you my friend. I also hope you exceed in every single thing you set out to do. I simply hope it is not with a heavy heart you resign, think of your times in RuneScape with pride, and all of the good relations you've had with people. I once said this to Saru, "Saru, we may be friends that you'll never meet in your entire lifetime, but we're your friends nonetheless." if you can stand up to your problems and stop it, then don't feel ashamed that you don't have any friends. just get out there, and be yourself. if you're in college, then you shouldn't let those little things get to you so much. if you're worried about getting friends, then be a friend and someone will definitely stand up to you.

Good to see you've realised, like myself this RL things pwn RS. Sorry to hear of the problems you're facing with college, eyesight and social interaction etc but such a nice guy as yourself should have no problems making friends When you quit an addiction you need something to fill in the void you pick up a social club sport to spend time with friends, anything like Football, Rugby, Mountain Biking etc is amazing and good fun :D

Over the last('07) summer I think I left my house like 15 times.

 

Then my mom said I needed to stop playing. She cancelled my membership and I was stuck with Member's items in my inventory and on me. So there was nothing I could really do. As of the end of the summer, I had seen my friends like 3 times. I was playing around 5-6 hours a day. COMPLETE waste of time(IMO) to be doing that instead of hanging out with friends, family, or some other constructive thing. I realise RS is just a time filler, but it became an obsession and I didin't really like having to wake up and the first thing I wanted to do was play RS. Runescape can turn evil sometimes, and it's good you realized when to end it. Good luck making some more friends and GL IRL :D

 

But that doesn't mean I won't continue to play every now and again :twss:

I'm not even addicted to the game like it sounds like you were, but whenever i log on I still slightly wanna play.

 

 

 

If your quitting, definately cancel ur membership asap and just dont log on anymore. Honestly I'd probably be playing again if i wasn't a lazy motha fu**a and felt like it would be worth buyin membership again :mrgreen:

 

 

 

Because to be honest, this game is fun as hell when theres nothing going on or when your bored, but it shouldn't consume you. Now if you really are addicted like you say, then you will probably come back relatively soon due to withdrawal. If this is the case, judging from your post this would negatively impact your life. So if you really want to quit then give someone your pass and tell them to change it.
